Gun Purchases

I was just making a point that she has experience with weapons just not hand guns, didn’t work as well in print as it did in my head, I thought you could read minds and stuff.

center axis relock. it DRAMATICALLY reduces recoil among other things.

i can see you’re point about the smaller gun having a bigger muzzle flip.

however i still must stress, this is a gun that is being shot to save her life, not because she’s out on the range having a fun day.
I will certainly research c.a.r sounds like something that’ll help me too.

Totally agree about her safety, just gotta find the right boom stick, for now the 380 is better than nothing.

380 may be OK (shit, there’s guys that carry 32s and 25s and 22s) but at least get a 380 that works. That new little Ruger or the Keltec might be a better choice in terms of reliability than Bersa, which has a not-so-hot reputation.

Took me a while to make the decision to go 40 over 9 since I mostly had 9s and .45 but I feel confident with the 40 and some good expanding rounds. Fucking good ammo is $1 a round now - jeez!

Maybe there’s another PISTOL thread around but . . . I remember in my first Concealed Pistol License class there were people there that looked like they were shooting for their first (and maybe last) time, meaning they probably just take the course, fire the 200 or so rounds that day and then carry it, thinking they have their shit together. Just saying that like anything else - PRACTICE.

She’s got her eye on that little pocket Ruger 380, can’t think of the name but I’m pushing for something bigger for her.
As far as practice goes, I had been going to the range every week but as of late I’ve been working nights so it makes it much harder to go. When I took my CCW class there were a few folks there who looked like they’d just bought their guns, scary shit.

It’s the Ruger LCP…half the reason none of us can get .380 ammo is a result of the success of this pistol.

If I were to get a .380, though, it would be the Kahr P380. One of the few .380’s with true combat sights…and with a night sight option.

I just bought a Kahr PM9 to augment my Kimber 1911 Tactical Ultra. It’s sitting in my FFL’s safe waiting for me to get back from Iraq.

you know, while u’re over there playing in the sand, if you want u’re wife to send me the pistol, i can field test it for you while your away.

you know, cuz i’m a good friend and all that shit.

dd, if you haven’t bought a piece yet, have you looked at the S&W .38 in +p? just point and shoot, and the hammer is enclosed so it won’t snag on clothing. also she won’t have to worry about a stovepiped round, faliure to fire, or faliure to feed, as she just pulls the trigger again.

edit** yes yes, i know u’re wife wants that .380. i’m not telling you not to buy it and not trying to be a prick and say ‘nono, look HERE’. just making sure you’ve checked out all options

Oh no, you’re cool, I certainly want her to check out her options so suggestions are 100% welcome. I’m not in love with her having a .380 or the jam machine she has currently. What will likely happen is I’ll buy a new guy, she’ll take my G19 and buy one of those purse holsters to carry it in, that’s really the only way she could conceal it.
I’m going to the gun store Monday to shoot so I’ll check for the S&W then. Thanks.

Yep that’s the one, seems like a nice little pocket pistol. I’ll check the Kahr too, thanks.

Shit, I should…gotta run 200 break in rounds through it anyway.

You could also have her check out Ruger’s LCR - If memory serves it’s a .38 that can handle +p rounds, but I could be mis-remembering that. In any case that’s their new hammerless revolver and is roughly the size of the LCP.

I have nothing against responsible gun ownership, but several of your posts have been about theft, rape (male butt-sex and otherwise) and executing “hits” on people for nominal sums of money. Please don’t hold up a Korean grocer or something.
Your profile picture is taken from an episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force when the character featured in your profile picture rapes Carl in the butt. I don’t see where you’re trying to go with your rape (male butt-sex and otherwise) argument, it seems to me that you are somewhat of a hypocrite. Do you not agree with me??

Never said I had anything against animals raping humans. In fact I kind of get off on it.

The legality of carrying a gun varies from state to state. A couple do not allow anyone except law enforcement officers to carry, while one or two allow anyone to carry. Most of the states are somewhere in between those extremes.

EVERYONE “needs” a gun ya pansy!
