That’s understandable. You have to have a gun for each hand.

It is, but since then I got a misdemeanor conviction and you need a permit to buy a handgun so im asking can i still get that permit with a misdemeanor i know you can \t get one with a felony.[/quote]
This shouldn’t be a question anymore…did you miss the information I posted above that outlines every misdemeanor that will prevent the purchase of a handgun?

And in that case he’ll still have to talk to someone at a gun shop to process the paperwork and provide delivery of the gun.

i was not trying to suggest a way to circumvent legal gun ownership, i was providing a link on to where he could get a good deal on the weapon he desired.

My comment was to the OP. He’s already failed to read the answers here. He needs to get off the internet and go visit a gun shop.
Would you like a lesson on the Internet?

If you live in Detroit then you need to have and CARRY a gun.
Call up Action Impact on 8 Mile near Beech Daly or go there and try their guns out.
If you’re gonna buy a pistol, find one on the net. A great site is Gunbroker.com and then have it shipped to a local FFL. If you’re in need of an FFL I know one in Southfield that is VERY reasonable.
I recommend Glock.

Hard to argue a Glock, goes bang every time! Of all the guns I own and have shot my Glock 19 has never failed to go boom. Now to get a baby hand cannon G32 .357 sig, droollllllll.

Pretty sure the Lancer would be kick ass for those in Detroit. Even keeps zombie hobos at bay!

YUP - Glock, ugly, doesn’t feel good in my hand but I don’t know of any other gun that’s been torture-tested and still worked - even after dropped out of an airplane from 500ft! I was shooting a Sig P239 at the range and the thing jammed on me.
Speaking of hand-cannons - why not just go 10mm? For when you really need the bullet to go all the way thru!
I find the 357Sig to be a bit of an oddball round so I stick with 40S&W. The owner of a local gunshop however, used his Glock in 357 to lay a carjacker to rest a few years ago, so the round works.
I know several dudes that carry .380 autos, which to me is better than carrying nothing at all, but the smallest I would go is 9mm and those are the guns my wife protects the house with.
Microtech is coming out with a pretty nifty little 9mm soon.

I’ve thought about a 10mm however the round is so much more expensive than the .357 and harder to find, at least last I looked.
I carry a 9mm because at the time that was about the only round you could find on a consistent basis but I’m now looking for more fire power, will likely end up with a G30 .45 that gun just shoots so smooth, recoil is straight back no muzzle flip so it’s easy to stay on target. The .357 is more a toy than anything. Truth be told, I want to collect the whole set ![]()
Wife carries a Bursa thunder 380, nice little gun but you better hit what you aim for within the first 2-3 rounds because it’ll jam before the mag is empty. I wish Glock would bring their 380 to the states so she can have something small and reliable. Shes too small to hide even a compact and doesn’t like the sub compact G26 9mm, too much kick for her.

in terms of shooting for fun at the range, and carrying a pistol that is sure to knock a guy down, i don’t really see the validity in her argument.
she is carring a pistol that in the EXTREMELY RARE chance some guy is trying to kill/kidnap/rape her, she’s going to kill the mofo, and is going to bring a bullet to the table that can do the job.
.380 IMO is too weak a round. 9mm STILL i feel is too weak, but the G26 is a much better weapon than any .380
has your wife been taught properly how to shoot a firearm? if so, and she still feels recoil is an issue, has she been shown the c.a.r. method?
recoil from a 9mm should really not be an issue. even for small framed women
I’m looking to add to my arsenal with the Gamo Whisper high-power air gun. I should be able to peg squirrels with it inside city limits without anyone noticing with it’s attached silencer.

Agreed the .380 is not the best round by any stretch, right now she has this gun as an intro to hand guns for her. When we got her this gun I basically wanted to put something in her hand that she felt comfortable with and enjoyed shooting.
She’s fired all kinds of rifles, her favorite is her fathers AR15, if she could CCW it she’d carry that but she’s somewhat knew to hand guns. She has no problems shooting my G19 9mm but it’s too big for her to carry, the smaller 26 has a much heavier muzzle flip which I think is what she doesn’t like about it.
She had a half day of formal instruction from a retired police instructor before we got her gun and she seems to know what she’s doing. I’m not familiar with the c.a.r method myself so I doubt she is.

center axis relock. it DRAMATICALLY reduces recoil among other things.
i can see you’re point about the smaller gun having a bigger muzzle flip.
however i still must stress, this is a gun that is being shot to save her life, not because she’s out on the range having a fun day.
