15 yds

Some say those sights aren’t precise but I actually shoot better groups with them than standard 3-dot sights.

Shooting right handed? You seem to be pulling right a little maybe as you squeeze the trigger.

Just saying because I know I had an issue of pulling the trigger instead of “pushing” it and was causing my shots to go right.

Yeah could be. Happy with some of those groups though and i have been dead on with my Sig an 19. Since they are consistantly right i’ll probably just drift the sight a bit.

If the frame is like the glock 19 and you have big hands get some pachmayr grips. I was pulling right with the glock until i put on the pachmayrs.

I have the 357 revolver for the wife, and the lever action 357 marlin 1894 for my son. Home loads 117 grain hollows with 11.4 gram of powder . [/quote]

Any woman who carries a 357 Magnum has my respect.

Yeah, I am sorry dude. It’s a disease amoung young woman. They just don’t believe ‘it could happen to them’, until they get a close shave, of course.

I don’t know how to change someone’s mentality so you have your work cut out for you. Tell her pat thinks all women should carry, because assholes exist.
Maybe that will work?

Thanks but I doubt it’ll work. She know the world is full of wackos but like you said, won’t happen to me. I guess because she runs with a group of girls, there’s safety in number. I like my idea of safety in numbers; me and 10 in a magazine.

I actually saw a study where even a larger group of people, if all female, are much more likely to get attacked, robbed, raped, etc than even just a couple where there is a male presence.

I feel for you though man because you never know. And thinking it will never happen to me is just naive.

I usually carry my glock 10mm or my springfield XD 40. Each are 14+1 and I always keep an extra clip with me too. Plus, I usually have my SW 38 J frame hammerless as my backup gun on me as well.

Beyond that, if I can make it to my car with the firepower on me, you are fucked lol.

To me a ‘group of girls’ is just more girls to rape, I don’t see the safety in that at all. And yeah, I know you have no way of convincing her. Unfortunately, the only thing that will is an actual event, that hopefully will be nothing more than a close call.
For me, yeah I like to carry but I don’t always, depends on what I am doing and where I am going. Maybe I should, but truth be told I don’t have my guns for self defense. I have them because they’re incredibly fun and I love to shoot. It’s really just a hobby that happens to have the side effect of being a good self defense tool.
I should carry all the time because I am far more cool headed when I do. I don’t cut people off, I don’t flip people off, I stay away from any situation that looks like it could even possibly escalate. I keep my head about me because I don’t want to end up in a situation where I would have to pull out the gun.
The problem is, once you bring a gun into any situation, even if you are totally justified in every way to do so and you have every right you are going to be dealing with the Justice System for the next 2 years. You’re going to have to interview, be debriefed, questioned, etc. for a while. It’s going to cost you money and time, regardless of the situation. That being the case, I will do it if I have to. I may be a victim, but I am not going to let myself be a victim. If one pulls a weapon on me to rob me, I assume they are intending to use the weapon to harm me. But I have no interest in being a hero.

You know looking back when I bought my 9, I should have went for the .40. For some reason there is tons of .40 ammo available on the cheap. It’s the easiest ammo to find. What’s done is done, but the sr40c is the same size and carries only one less round. While I am not having trouble getting 9 mm, the .40 is more plentiful and cheap. I am not going to do any sort of trade in but if somebody wants to trade me my sr9c for an sr40c even, I’d do it in a heart beat. I keep my guns immaculate, it looks like it’s never been shot.

I have some stick on rubber grips that work well but the pachmayr grips are probably a no-go. My hands are more medium sized to smallish and those look like they will add more circumference to the grip that I need for the 21. I was also shooting range reloaded ammo so was just payin more attention to the groups rather than adjusting to dead center. Thanks though I do like those grips, just for other guns.

Is that the standard or the sub-compact? I’ve got the sub-compact version. It’s a great gun.

That sort of behavior is advisable under all circumstances, but doubly so when carrying.

Generally speaking, American courts will hold someone legally armed with a lethal weapon to a higher standard of care than they would a member of the general public.

This should go without saying, but there’s always someone who doesn’t get it and thinks that a concealed weapons license is a green light to brandish, threaten or intimidate others with their firearm.

Of course, the overwhelming majority of carriers exhibit the same behavioral phenomenon you describe. More careful, more aware, more restrained.

Fucked? Not necessarily. The legal concept he is probably referring to is called disparity of force. Being very large can change the equation. A 240 lb bodybuilder attacking a 150 lb man with bare fists would probably satisfy that legal test simply by virtue of body size.

Now lets say that same bodybuilder is being attacked by a 150 lb man skilled in hand to hand combat and finds himself in real danger of death or great bodily harm, like gouged out eyes, severe beating, brain damage etc. Said bodybuilder uses his firearm in legitimate self defense, killing the 150 lb badass.

His defense would probably be at an immediate disadvantage, barring obvious physical evidence that justified that level of force.

I am not a lawyer. This is not legal advice. Dont start fights with bodybuilders or even small men.
