Fellas, I am by no means a guns expert but I have a little experience. If you had to pick your top 3 guns to conceal, what would they be? I have two already, only a 9mm and 380 but I want another one lol. Hopefully I can pick it up with a little bit of Christmas $$$
How do you intend to conceal it?
Either on my ankle or get some sort of waistband shorts
Ankles are not a great concealed weapon location. Too far away and itās funny feeling when you walk. Plus, I knocked it into things.
What state are you in? is the next question. I have a (rare) CHL for Manhattan, and it is for a revolver because that is what will work with the paperwork unless you are a professional bodyguard.
Those advising to have a couple of different weapons are correct. What can be concealed depends on what you are wearing.
Thereās even a very stupid-looking box holster that looks like something an engineer would clip to his belt that holds a .40 glock. I wear this most of the time in Phoenix.
In NYC, I just slip the .38 in my jacket pocket (in a holster so a I donāt print). On the subway or the street, my hand is already on it.

I assume you mean concealed on my person so given that criteria the weapon must be as reliable as possible with a proven track record. Must be stoopid simple to operate. Must have a good ammo capacity. There is a short list of ābet my life onā weapons⦠I choose GLOCK. Specifically the GLOCK 19. Its small enough to easily conceal yet big enough to fight with. I also carry a G17, the 19ās bigger brother, from time to time. A spare mag is standard EDC also. I rock this bad boy in an Old Faithful holster at he 4 oclock position IWB. All day comfort. I do not have multiple gun types for carry weapons. I train diligently to be as ready as possible if for some reason my situational awarness shits the bed and I find myself in an unavoidable situation. Multiple platforms only complicate the issue. Under duress your hands will turn to flippers and your fine motor skills go right out the window. All those tacticool takedown levers, slide releases, āsafetiesā etc will screw you. Come go time, I only want to have to draw the weapon and get sights on target and pull the trigger, which will be hard enough as is.
Now if youāre asking what brand weapons I would trust my life to they would be Glock, Smith & Wesson M&P series, S&W Shield, SIG.

You arenāt the first one to tell me good things about a glock 19ā¦Iāll have to check into it
chobbs wrote:

My current setup in order of ease of concealment:
I had a Sig P938 at 2), but first it had a broken rivet joint and had to go back to the factory, then later I took it down to detail clean and found a broken firing pin spring. It still fired, but thatās just too much stuff to go wrong. It only had about 500 rounds through it, too, and I really liked the gun but it had to go.
For 3) Iām looking at small pocket guns and might end up with the S&W 642 J-Frame revolver which has been suggested. The other contenders are PM9 or whatever the Kahr 380 is. The Glock 42 or whatever that is supposed to be coming out may also get some attention.
I saw a Taurus TCP for sale for $200 and almost picked it up just to test. That price is hard to beat for a CCW gun for someone on a tight budget. Iād like to see someone run a class or 1000 round weekend with one to see how it performs.
Iām working on a budget here and just from online stuff Iāve read and the price tag an NAAās 1 1/8" mini revolver looks good but idk

Is that Sigās version of the AR-10? Good looking weapon, regardless.
This particular one is actually the sig 556R. Their version of the AK variant. I also have the sig 716 patrol rifle which is their version of the AR-10.
Nice man. The 556R chambered in 7.62 correct?
Speaking of Ak variants, here is my bad guy gun. Try to ignore the nasty block of communism covering the magazine release.

Yes sir, another reason why I love it haha. āCheapā ammo.
Niceeeee, looks sick. Who makes that particular one?
Itās a CAI M70 OPAP. Going pretty cheap and are built pretty solid.

A block of communism on the right arm of the Communist Bloc? What is this world coming to?!

Well I was going to call it a nasty piece of Pelosi but I didnāt want to ruin anyoneās lunch.

FWIW, Taurus admitts they suck⦠http://www.guns.com/taurus-promise-pledge-better-guns-video-10631.html
I would NOT reccommend a Taurus product for anything that you reasonably expect to work to defend your life or others. Kahr can be iffy. Some run like a sewing machine and some suck ass. Kahr requires a ābreak in periodā If you are ok with that. Iāve read the Kahr customer service sucks big time which would be bad if you wind up with a poorly fit weapon. For a little less money you could get a S&W SHIELD. They are highly dependable pistols requireing no break in and are super reliable. Plus S&W stand behind their stuff should need something.

Iām not a tarus fan either. Their auto pistols are junk.
At least you could pistol whip someone with a tarus? Then it again it might break! lol

Iāve heard bad things about Sigās quality control lately. Not as many bad things as Iāve heard about Remington, but still.

Very nice. See the curved mag now.
My latest toy is a full-auto AK-74; just got the ATF tax stamp for it. I think itās one of the few in the country, just slid under the ban. Completely re-did it with modern furniture.
You can get 5.45mm tungsten-core ammo in 1066 round tuna cans for .11/round. Shoots through a 1/4 inch steel plate.
Not nearly as pretty as the Sig, but I can burn through 40 round commie red bakelight magazines in 8 seconds.
Very jealous. Pics or video? Love that ammo price and availability. Those guns donāt break the bank either.
I am in the market for a 22 revolver (for the wife and to have fun with since 22 ammo is so cheap). Preferably it would have a 4-6" stainless steel barrel. I want something with the quality to last a lifetime, but at the same time donāt want to spend an insane amount of money for just a 22.
Right now I really love the S&W 617 6" 10 round, but itās over $700. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/26304
Iāve read that a slightly cheaper, comparable option would be the Ruger SP101. However, it has worse reviews with a tougher trigger pull and an ergonomically challenged grip. Do you guys have any suggestions?
Edit: Also forgot to mention that I was looking for a revolver with double action
Thanks for your help fellas, I think Iām gonna go with a glock 19 if I can get a deal on one.
Iām planning on purchasing a block 19 gen 4 as well, looks really solid

There are lots of affordable semi-automatic 22LR pistols on the market.
