Gun Control

Conservatives whine…despite the fact that there ends up being 1) no significant impingment on the second Amendment whatsoever and 2) See “Liberals Wine” above.

So…what exactly is everyone whining about?

What do you consider “significant impingment on the second Amendment”
Tell me…because quite honestly, I haven’t seen any. (Brady Bill?)

I have no idea.

How about learning to come off the fence and having us hear where you stand.

All I’m trying to say is it isn’t about guns as much. It is about freedom.

Let’s be honest, unless we are outlawing “assult spoons” and “assult cakes” and “assult icecream sundays” to prevent fatness, outlawing a gun to prevent crazy is stupid, and any rational person can see that…

The arguement, the “whine”, is about freedom.

Well current talk is to ban assault rifles or magazines over a certain capacity. At what point below do you draw the line on impingment?

 • Even lower magazine capacities 5 max
 • Guns can only hold a single bullet
 • Single bullet with a minimum reset time to fire again, like 1 minute
 • Only non-lethal bullets allowed

AlphaF:

We have a Second Amendment Right to bear arms…and I respect that Right 100%.

That is not “sitting on the Fence”.

What I DON’T understand is how a Populace that probably packs more Heat than just about anyone in the World somehow thinks that Right has/is?/has been? taken away?

I’m just not getting it.

Government never stops.

They never stop taking, never stop consuming, and never stop with their greed.

The very large majority of them, are fucking scum bag punks who think of “we the people” to feed them and their interests.

This is a slow bloodletting that we are seeing, little by little, piece by piece, the people are being lulled out of their rights, and being herded into government control.

I can not purchase one of these.

On what Planet can’t you purchase any type of arms you can afford?

Mufasa

I’m not sure that most of you appreciate the gravity of the situation. Don’t confuse warning with whining.

Want to read some truly disturbing stuff? Want to know what the ruling class is really up to?

Now, I realize that this could be complete BS, but compare it to recent events and tell me it doesn’t add up the way RB says

But don’t you worry that “reasonable people” will see you as a “gun nut?” Your obsession with so called “freedom” is nothing more than a desire to have a thumb grip or other “military characteristic” on your “sporting weapon” so that you will look more bad-ass in your camo gear.

Don’t you understand that your obsession with freedom comes with the directly related expense of dead children in a schoolroom? Don’t you understand that your “freedom” to hunt deer and quail does not extend magazines that can contain more than 10 rounds? Why do you need 30 rounds in a mag in order to kill a whitetail? Shouldn’t you spend more time on your marksmanship skills and less on your freedom obsession?

You’re all emotional about freedom and such but where are your heart strings when it comes to blood and guts in an elementary school room? Why don’t you “get it?” Something MUST be done! We can’t let a serious crisis go to waste!
Love this post.

I live in Massachusetts, that weapon is fully automatic.

I could drive the 2 miles from my house and buy it in New Hampshire (I believe) but I cannot bring it back to my home, or keep it in my home if I got it there in the first place.

Not Muf’s style. Staying “above the fray” proffers an air of self perceived objectivity and sophistication.
I’ve answered this, Push.

There was no “fence-setting” or “staying above the fray”.

Mufasa,

Thank you for replying to my post.

I always understood your primary role here in posting as a mediator.

In this instance I just really was curious and wanted to know you for you.

Thank you for showing up more.

It is very hard to see you from where I read you.

Exactly.

I am shocked to see how the people who are in favor of control immediately jump to the conclusion that the other option is that we must force every one to be armed when no one has ever said that.

In their minds they do not even seem to entertain the notion of possession of free will.
As if they have surrendered theirs and therefore those possessing it must surrender it also.
No respect whatsoever. So much for believing in equality.

I mostly object to any side that believes they can FORCE me to do anything I have considered and say: No.

I chose my right to continue to exercise my free will.
