Quick upper body session today, enjoying benching a lot and using the mag weird grip thing that I took a pic of a while back for rows. Did some OHP for once which went alright but need to be doing it more consistently.
Bench 3x6 @ 92.5kg
OHP 4 sets @ 50kg
Rows 4 Sets

I had a bit of a play with them. Felt like it worked my traps good but not the rest of my back. It’d be cool if there was something purpose built for front loaded carries

Quick sesh with my housemates tonight so did a bit less than I would’ve liked but still got in good work and had a good time.
Sumo DL 5x3 @ 200kg
Not sure if it’s because I’m cheating with the whippiest bar in the gym (not sure what kind of bar it is actually, not a DL bar for sure, might be a cheap weightlifting bar I dunno) filled with to the brim with bumper plates but 200kg is feeling pretty comfortable for getting in work with
Bench 15 reps @ 70+ %1RM
Dunno volume wise but I’m benching 4x a week and enjoying the frequency. Don’t feel particularly beat up in the benching muscles at all actually fresher than when I was benching 3x a week (might’ve of been higher volume back then though)
Cable Rows 5 Sets
The funky MAG attachment is good fun so I can bust out rows. Just need to be consistent with vertical pulls.
DB Incline Bench 4x15 @ 25kgs
Dropped the weight a bit today cos didn’t feel like pushing things. Just some speedy rep work.
Been meaning to dry out some high rep good mornings like a finisher but haven’t got around to them

Probably more than this but gyms I’m 100% sure on and/or have trained at would have to go with: Doherty’s City is good, Doherty’s Brunswick is the best commercial gym in the state (not CBD but close enough) and there’s probably many smaller private ones. Can’t personally vouch for them but I’ve little doubt they’d be good too
If you expand your search radius a little bit there’s like a dozen amazing gyms to choose from too

Squats and bench today. Squat going shitty recently. Can’t quite get technique to click and not like puking forward to rep squats.
Squat 12 reps @ 70% + 1RM
Bench 12 reps @ 80% + 1RM
holy shit 12 reps at 70%? Thats brutal. More than 5 reps on a set of squats is tough at any weight lol.
I feel you on the squat technique though, still haven’t got mine nailed but made a huge improvement to the feel of my technique with 10ish weeks of bulgarian training. From memory you cant get to the gym that regularly, but something to have in the back pocket if you ever have a couple weeks where you can train more often.

Upper body today and bench is going well. Frequency is up at least 4x per week or more and my joints are muscles are feeling fresh everyday like I could go in and bench on the daily baby please lol.
Pleasantly surprised today to get a Bench rep PR of 100kg x 5 with one in the tank so even better. Moved well not exactly all strict paused but better pauses than when I hit 100kg for 4 not so long ago

I read it as 15 reps with 100 kg, and thought WTF has he done over the last month.
Those reps looked crisp and strong man.
Bench is moving. I’m confident I’m makin gains and it’s all about that positive mindset.
2 plates always looked scary and I’ve been apprehensive with the weight for a long time. I’ve been trying to hit it every workout now: either reps or long pauses to make it less intimidating and it’s worked I think.
How’s your bench doing? I remember it was in the 80s last time I was around your log?
