Nice bedlifting.
I assume this new place came with the furniture.

Fuck furniture I want a place that comes with a home gym
Who needs a bed when you can sleep on the bench pad anyway huh?
Just got some mats in. They are 1x1m so gives a bit of scale. Will drag em outside to deadlift on dunno if that area is particularly level though. Once I get the other two from Melbourne will have a nice square lifting platform
Bit suss with carpet underneath but I’ll survive as long as I don’t punch through the floor or something.
I have visions in my head now of you squatting a few hundred, smashing through the floor and landing in your downstairs neighbor’s living room still in the hole, before gracefully standing back up again. “Excellent sesh, new PB” you’ll say.
Probably complain about fatigue and lack of readiness before he did that though.
1 storey building but it’s raised so i dunno whats directly under the floor. I do go thru the floor ill probably instantly dump the weight and put two other holes in the floor.
As long as the floor has a high level of readiness.
Put out the word in the guinea pig network AKA underground Viet-Australian community and booked in some cash-hand movers and their truck. Saves me couple hundred vs the companies that show up when you google. Bit shifty so dunno if they’l show up tomorrow morning but if all goes well should have gear within 24 hrs
I like your creativity and commitment dude. Good job on always coming up with a solution for training in these crazy times.
Btw. didn’t you and your family get checked for covid? I totally forgot to ask about the results or maybe have read over it somehow.
Gains is the only option
Everyone’s clear. False alarm. How about u?
Will know tomorrow but I’m honestly more precautius than worried for myself. I don’t want to be the dick who harms others because of his reckless behavior.
Mats usually do a good job of dissipating any point loads on the floor… If your still scared about it you can get a piece of plywood to throw under the rubber as well.
Add carpet in between mats and wood (shock/ vibration absorption) to be ultra safe. Saw that in a video for building deadlift platforms on sensitive sloors.
I thought it was an entire state, but still why should you be restricted to 5km from home? What difference would it make if you go a bit further? Australia has some of the lowest rates of COVID cases and deaths in the world and now some of the strictest restrictions, doesn’t seem like a rational way to deal with the situation.
Or have one foot on either side of a floor joist and dump the weight when said floor joist tries to turn you into a woman by force.
Nervous laughter
Transgender pig! LOL.
Well I’ll be more competitive for my first meet at least. But actually does a sheet of plywood sound like a good idea?
No idea and I agree it seems extreme. I think there is data showing a lot of our recent cases have come from families or groups of friends gathering rather than at work places or public spaces. This is a VA in attempt to stop people moving about and keep them at home. If people were clever enough to listen to the advise and stay at home in the first place we wouldn’t be in this situation.
