I think the idea of ply under is just to make the whole thing thicker and tie it all together.
Yeah Bunnings at the moment sucks balls, I wanted to paint the front of the house these holidays
I’m checking out the first rep of my 240 set last sesh and noticing the whip was throwing me off. The bar wiggled flexing up and down a bit as it broke the floor making the rep super awkward.
First time this has happened but makes sense because this is probably the whippiest set up I’ve ever pulled on. I’m gonna see if I can use some of the plates bought to control the weight distribution and whip a bit.
For a near max attempt I’d rather have the extra control over the extra whip advantage.
Whole day spent smashing out an assignment. Finished couple of hours early so decided to hit a late night sesh (beauty of home gyms I guess).
Readiness was low not surprising given my heavy deads last session and my poor preparation throughout today. Squats meh and knee wraps felt terrible because i haven’t touched em in weeks.
Felt terrible this sesh in a lot of ways but technique wasn’t bad. Silver lining gains
We’ll see what happens. Give it a month and maybe max out if it’s in the cards. I’ll be building up in the mean time so should have a gauge of what’s possible by then.
Pretty chill medium sesh. Comp deadlift was feeling amazing but all part of the process.
Hook Grip is solid enough. Can’t do a full workout with it but for singles should be good. Top set mixed grip today just to keep up the skill and grip.
Non cheat/ Romanian deadlifts are starting the block in a good place: heavier than ever and room to build.
Something like that. It’s a bit inconsistent but when I set it right I can hold onto plenty. A solid training cycle with more hook practice and acclimatisation for the thumbs should work
My reasoning behind it is you are using a lighter weight with the dumbbells to be able to tolerate the pain better and high reps makes your hands hold into the position longer therefore getting better acclimated to it. That’s what I did anyways and the first time I deadlifted with it I pulled 500lbs
The only thing that scares me about hook grip is if it holds up at higher percentages… I know i can hook up to 200kg without any uncomfortable feelings. Whats another 50kg gonna do ? lol
