Bench went alright too with some wider grip work.
Need more balance so I can do this

Haven’t hit the gym for almost a week as have been busy doing the last two assessments for my Bachelors and looking into future pathways.
Bit apprehensive going into this workout because last squat sesh flared up my back for a few days. Did my movement prep and warmed up. Nil signs to back off so put on some more weight for a few triples at 120kg. Felt heavy lol.
Back feels fine coming out of the session so that’s a win. Load tolerance is good so far. Squats shoes back on for the first time in a few months (not sure if I prefer flats or heels)
Seems like I’ve detrained enough that this weight is enough to get a decent training effect. Time to stop bitching about my legs shrinking and start building them back up.
Good read Hamster, hope you can keep that back calm.

Early morning deadlifts at Doherty’s Brunswick today. Haven’t been here in a while and they’ve got in a new belt squat which I took for a spin.
Core stability exercises and glute activation to warm up and hit some reps at 3 biscuits / 140kg.
Back didn’t bother me mostly just felt weak at this weight. It’s humbling to say the least. Only thing that hurts is my hands lol
Just gotta patiently build back up. Unfortunately patience isn’t really my strong suit but what can I do ![]()
Sumo Deadlift 140kg
Conventional Deadlift 110kg
Stiff Leg Deadlift 80kg
Barbell Shrugs 80kg
Barbell Row 40kg
Belt Squat 60kg
Looking good brah
Feels aight on the back but shitty in other aspects. Weight feels heavy and technique feels sloppy. Have never been this de trained before but I guess it’s just a matter of time
I’d be more worried if your back felt bad but technique felt good. Don’t worry, you’ll be back in no time as long as you take care of your back
Tekkers looks absolutely fine tbh. With sumo I find that, if i actually pay attention to warm-ups, its really very hard for a rep to feel technically good when the weight is light.
Felt heavy though lol
Binch felt good. Had to check if it was the right weight on the bar. Pull the bar apart cue finally clicked. Upper body pump afterwards was also juicy.
Those reps were rapid!
Talks to skinny teen lifters first day in gym “When I was your age I’d ragdoll 3 cookies like it was a PVC pipe”
Lower body at Doherty’s Gym Melbourne.
Honestly not sure where my feet should go and point for squats and deadlifts at this point so experimented today a bit with back squats and light pause deadlifts.
Old faithful narrow stance squats felt best even though I’ve been squatting wider and knees out for weeks now.
First session I’ve hit squats and deads together and back was feeling great so that’s another small win.
This is probably the nicest leg press style machine I’ve used. Comfy enough to go deep and feels squat like in its movements. Will use again
You have all the sexy equipment ![]()

Busted out the straps for some sumo deadlifts @ 140kg today. Forgot how much straps help but it’s nice to rep out without worrying about hook grip and thumb pain.
Followed up with the full suite of assistance: conventional, stiff legs, shrugs and rows
eww straps
