Today’s foods

Up and Go 15p
McDonalds Ice Mocha 10p

Might finish with a scoop of whey

It’d be hard to fuck up a rack lol. Locking up barbells make more sense I’ve seen expensive bars get wrecked when left to the masses. If you don’t know what it is you shouldn’t be using.

After suffering a devestating fracture it seemed all was lost for my faithful gym bag. Thankfully specialist surgeon dr @simo74 was able to perform a groundbreaking experimental procedure to save him. There’s new hope for gym bags everywhere now.

Came out well. stonemill’s steakhouse grill rub bit heavy on the salt and chilli but was able to balance it out with mashed potatoes

Christmas almost upon us and again I’ll send my best wishes to all you and your loved ones.

Spent two days in Shepparton with the girlfriend and her fam. Gave her a cute as rose gold bracelet. Today made the 3 hr journey back to Melbourne via driving and then quick public transport into the CBD because parking would be a bitch.

So long day coupled with late girlfriend and I end up sitting here at Pepperoni’s 24/7 pizza bar at 11pm working out getting to the gym.

Doherty’s City is open 24/7 but training this late is the question. I just smashed a massive meal and got the day’s food in me but am feeling pretty alert and keen also it’d be nice to train under no time pressure. Gotta get back to the hotel safely at night too without getting coward punched by some cunt.

Squat

Feeling pretty shitty today. Did not have 160 odd for eight triples. Continuing to play with the “Upright” cue

Put in some good work though no worries. Ended up working up one set @ 160kg for a PR triple. Then sets @ 150kg including a Rep PR of 6.

Not happy with it though. Feels like I’ve not progressed much farther than the level I was at when I last PRed squats.

I want that fucking 200kg

Depth questionable anybody? I’m not sure anymore after see Hafthor get red lighted at his meet going deep as

Bench

Bad news funny feeling in my right shoulder/pec region. Weight moving well but still. Dunno if it’s an injury or not but bit of déjà vu?

Not gonna push into it. The AI program has a rehab/injury option not sure exactly what it entails but I think it removes that lift variations and accessories. Might suggest some rehab stuff too. Gonna have a look.

Does not bode well for the test but no worries I’ll just not do bench if that’s how it goes. Surprisingly I’m not really frustrated?

Gonna push conventional deadlift to next workout no worries.

Depth looks fine mate, sometimes depending on how you squat, foot position etc it can look high, but the knee bend is still 90* or more.

looks fine to me. If you wanna feel more secure going into the meet maybe squat a little deeper though. Incase you cut depth when it gets close to that 200kg ya’know.

Family BBQ for lunch so ate well and had to wait for the food coma to pass. After a few hours and going out to hand cut some fresh grass from an empty lot for the guinea pigs I was feeling alert and warmed up.

Warm it was too at the gym. Oppressively warm but I was prepared today with some ice cubes thrown in my shaker.

Pause Deadlift
Conventional Deadlift

Middle aged lady maxing out on the deadlift bar for 15min so was patient and encouraged her. Not like I’m in a rush or anything. 102.5kg not bad lol poor form if I had to say so

Paused Deadlifts moved well though

I’m finding that dropping my hips longer or being more patient before I initiate the drive pulls more slack out the bar so working on that.

Beltless feeling bit better than belted at this point (actually maybe same?). Looks like deadlift technique is peaking in time for the test. Not long now.

Bench

Bench a bit iffy. Typing in “Injured Now” removes the lift from the program so there’s that and it also apparently allows you to enter recovery levels to progress you back in.

Once again strength is still there but something is getting irritated all up in there. But if frustration coming on now but not too mad

And that’s a wrap. Back home to a nice big porter house steak.

3 Weeks Out Review

Another week of lifting done. Squats going alright with some PRs (not happy with em as per previous workout post) and deadlift going a little better but can’t say I’m happy with either em.

Bench press bit fucked but I’m not really frustrated at that tbh. Haven’t actually tried out benching since yesterday so don’t know what’s up but it wasn’t a sudden traumatic thing and doesn’t feel at all bad.

Just part of the process I guess but I might take this time to rehab and pre hab my shoulder and pec and improve my bench set up emphasising safer more sustainable benchy bench.

I’ve heard @FlatsFarmer is knowledgeable: any tests I can run to identity issues or general pre or rehab that everyone should be doing?

Ate well today I think. Probably gonna eat well tomoz too becaus the massive family gathering and meal is done already.
