I really enjoy Last Action Hero with Arnold Schwarzenegger…and also Space Jam…don’t judge me.
Hey hey hey hey hey…hey.
Last Action Hero is a classic calibre movie.
Mmmhmm.
“Iced that guy”…easily the upper echelon of scripting genius. I’m simultaneously in a state of denial and acceptance over my love for that movie, and I always give in eventually.
With lines like that it’s definitely quality enough to be deemed a non guilty pleasure compared to other Schwarzenegger movie.
My guilty pleasure Arnie movie is Jingle All the Way, that movie just makes my x mas.
Ha, “Put that cookie down!”. I lose it whenever I hear that line.

I will watch Van Helsing literally every time I see it on.
Likely going to put on Slevin in the morning and get that review done for you, I apologise for having been pretty late on that.
No prob, enjoy the movie.
Will do. You ever see Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang by Shane Black? Was thinking about popping that on afterwards as well.
There is NOTHING shameful about Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. What a great movie.
Oh don’t worry man I threw it in unrelated to the thread because bpick wants me to get after Slevin and give him my thoughts, but I got an itching feeling to put that on too. I really love Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. :)
What’s Slevin? Lucky Number Slevin?
It’s just a Tarantino/Ritchie wannabe knock off, if that’s the movie you mean. Not a fan.

Yeah Lucky Number Slevin, bpick brought it up as among his favourites in one of the movie threads and he asked me my thoughts, so I promised I’d watch it again so it’s all fresh in my brain and I don’t have to work off my vague memories.

Another good one: Star Ship Troopers.
Hard to turn that one off when its on TV.
Awesome movie, pure 90’s B -Movie action.
Deep Blue Sea is another guilty pleasure of mine.
I disagree that Starship Troopers is a B-movie. It is a highly self-aware movie that knows exactly what it is doing and what it wants to say at every step along the way. It is superbly directed and acted, has a fantastic plot and dialog and couldn’t be more entertaining. The only reason it sometimes comes off as “cheesy” is that it is a parody, in a way, of the kinds of movies and topics that usually are fodder for B-movies. It is no B-movie and should not be the source of any guilt whatsoever.

Someone was trying to converse with me about Deep Blue Sea about a week ago, carried on for half an hour with me not being able to remember which movie he was talking about. He was just about to give up when he mentioned Samuel L Jackson being snuck up on by a shark, then I was suddenly aware of which one it was. I haven’t seen that in so long, I may plug it in on a drunken movie day.
“A Walk in the Clouds” I try to play it off like a girl made me watch it or something but its a lie. I love that movie. The Princess Bride is another.
Cortes and Audio, screw you guys. Slevin is awesome haha
Cortes there are actually several solid cartoons that get a fair amount of humor into them that make them solidly entertaining. If you liked Shrek, Kung Fu Panda would be another solid choice.

The Princess Bride is absolutely perfect in almost every way it wants to be, I love The Princess Bride so much. As for A Walk In The Clouds, that’s just inconceivable!
Kung Fu Panda is real good, second one’s pretty damn good too actually.

Kung Fu Panda and 2 are the best. I wish my 2 boys enjoyed watching it more. They like Cars and Cars 2. Another good one is Bolt (animated Dog one). I have so many animated movies at home it is not funny.

Hey thanks, guys. That’s going to be next on my list of movies to watch with my son. He LOVES Shrek and Puss in Boots.

Lol, i’d say this comment automatically nominates Slevin for “guiltiest pleasure” listed so far.
