Guilty Pleasure Movies or TV shows

I worked on Last Action Hero (visual fx). Turns out the people who love it the most work in Hollywood, it pokes so much fun at the film business.

It was the same summer Jurassic Park came out. We were discussing which movie would do better box office. Supervisor had the opinion “Arnold vs dinosaurs? My money’s on Arnold.”

I’m charmed by it’s parody silliness, I think there’s something about that kind of thing that brightens my day. A little like Cabin In The Woods for horror and that one pretentious guy in line for the cinema in Annie Hall. Think I shall watch it again tomorrow, it’s been a while and I’m somewhat excited to talk about it. Any particular handy dandy visual work in there of yours that I should be on the lookout for?

With the ex I watched the OC, Laguna beach, and Greys anatomy. Damn

Recently again because of women. Revenge and once upon a time. I can literally get sucked into any tv show if you force me to watch it enough.

None.

I like lots of different things and feel no guilt about any TV show or movie I like…

Dude, Last Action Hero is not nearly a bad movie. Not by a mile! Just cuz it got tanked by critics doesn’t mean it was actually a poor movie.

I love that movie.

Also, I would have taken your supervisor’s bet…and lost big time when Jurassic Park steamrolled people.

Dude. Van Helsing is a definite guilty pleasure of mine. Dracula’s acting in the intro scenes is absolutely hideous, but I love that movie. I also like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, but I’m not sure that qualifies because it has Sean Fucking Connery in it so it can’t be awful.

Guilty pleasures…Buffy. Seriously, I feel shame about that but I couldn’t stop watching lol. At least Angel was darker and Firefly was obviously just plain genius…but cheerleader taking on vampires? Sigh. Sign me up. At least they don’t sparkle.

Same here. There’s nothing I like that I feel guilty about. If I felt guilty I simply wouldn’t enjoy it very much.

Yep…there’s nothing bad about Last Action Hero

This is my favorite joke:
Arnold Schwarzenegger - Last Action Hero - "Wanna be a farmer?" - YouTube

I’m surprised that nobody pitched an Arnold vs. Dinosaurs script.

Uh dude…LOEM may be the guiltiest possible pleasure here…

The 'Burbs
Galaxy Quest
Big Trouble Little China

Shrek is one of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen. The entire series is terrific as is the spin-off Puss in Boots.

I LOVE Eddie Murphy and Antonio Banderas as Donkey and Puss in Boots.

I finally watched it for the first time just recently when looking for movies I could watch with my 4 year old son that wouldn’t bore me to suicide and I am delighted to have found such a smart, well produced, well acted, side splittingly hilarious movie.

The scene with Fiona singing with that bird in the forest and its immediate aftermath has to be one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen in any movie, anywhere.

Likely going to put on Slevin in the morning and get that review done for you, I apologise for having been pretty late on that.
No prob, enjoy the movie.
Will do. You ever see Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang by Shane Black? Was thinking about popping that on afterwards as well.
There is NOTHING shameful about Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. What a great movie.

Such a ghey movie, but I can not stop watching it.
“Toe-pick.”

Yeah, I’ve seen it. And yeah, same here.

I wrote that “toe-pick” line before clicking play. I remembered it that well.

Hey hey hey hey hey…hey.

Last Action Hero is a classic calibre movie.
Mmmhmm.

“Iced that guy”…easily the upper echelon of scripting genius. I’m simultaneously in a state of denial and acceptance over my love for that movie, and I always give in eventually.
With lines like that it’s definitely quality enough to be deemed a non guilty pleasure compared to other Schwarzenegger movie.

My guilty pleasure Arnie movie is Jingle All the Way, that movie just makes my x mas.

Oh don’t worry man I threw it in unrelated to the thread because bpick wants me to get after Slevin and give him my thoughts, but I got an itching feeling to put that on too. I really love Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
