Growth Hormone Secretagogues (GHS)

Years ago, I was doing some research on HGH for certain purposes, and came across some products on the market, claiming to contain Growth Hormone Secretagogues. Growth hormone secretagogues (GHSs) are synthetic compounds that cause the release of growth hormone (GH) from the pituitary.

Scientists have been working on producing orally active secretagogues, and also transdermal forms. There is also an injectable substance called Ghrelin, which was effective in stimulating growth in dwarf rats. Here’s a couple of links to some studies on secretagogues, for those who like heavy scientific reading: http://www.jyi.org/research/re.php?id=152

There is also a bit of info about hGH and secretagogues here, on an antiaging site:

I know some of you think that the hGH products on the market are all bunk, but if there are genuine products out there that contain actual GH secretagogues, then they should be effective at raising growth hormone levels and could be a cheaper viable alternative to injectable hGH.

I’ve been interested in a product called Secretagogue-One by MHP (Maximum Human Performance), which has been around for quite some time.

It’s been around for over 10 years, to my memory, and is actually used by some longevity institutes as an alternative to injectable hGH, so it must be pretty effective.

Here’s the link to the product:

Has anyone had experience with using secretagogues or GH precursors? Or this product in particular.

I’m interested because injectable hGH costs waaaay too much.

what is available as supplements for these compounds are usually weak and ineffective when compared to certain exercise and feeding protocols to maximize growth hormone response. see Berardi and poliquin for details.

now phamaceutically developed ones are interesting, but i understand they are still more expensive than hGH cost/benefit wise.

Meltdown training and Fat to Fire will induce more GH than any of those supplements will.
