One post-workout bar, with a 2:1 ratio of high-GI carbs to whey protein and low fat.
One MRP bar consisting primarily of casein and healthy fat, with maybe a few low-GI carbs (preferably from some natural source rather than sugar alcohol, glycerin, etcetera).
These bars would meet the requirements of the popular Massive Eating and T-Dawg Diets.
as for making it possible to stick to the massive eating guidlines… lets face it, putting that much fat into the bars will probably cause them to go rancid fairly fast. So maybe instead there could be 2 versions, one a post workout high insulin response carb, and another lower insulin response carb in the other.
Next, what about macronutrient ratios? 30% protien, 60% carbs, 10% fat, and maybe an energy content of around 400 kcals (30 grams P, 60 grams C, 5 grams F)
and since I’ve gone this far, howabout throwing in 100% RDA of different important vitamins/minerals (C, Zinc, Magnesium, B-complex, etc)
I definitely think we need some feedback from Biotest on this one. The post’s been going for about a month I think and other than the one post from Tim I’m not sure we’ve heard anything else about whether or not the bars will be back. I know I hate going anywhere other than biotest for supps. but I don’t have any choice when I need bars.
So please, some kind of update from the bigdogs would be much appreciated!!
Most of the bars at GNC are $3 to $3.50 and over 75% have High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS)which if you are trying to lose weight or use as a snack (meals 2 + 4) its like pissing in the wind!

The lemon bars were so Yummy, I was upset to never get to try the blueberry. The 7-11 up the street was charging me $2-3 for metrx bars that are like eating dried chalk so I think you guys can make some profit, otherwise the preorder idea sounds good.
Good news on methoxy 7. I’ve liked it since you introduced it and it just keeps getting better. I like the way it affects muscle hardness even more than Mag-10. I can’t wait!
At $.95 a bar cost $1.99 a bar would give you 100% markup. If you can live with that I would use them exclusively. That translates into about 2-5 bars a day for a long time

Regarding GROW! bars, if you (T-Nation) want them, we’ll make them! Bars are now kind of a nutritional staple. As such, I want to produce something in the category. There are problems, though:
Minimum production runs are extremely high, and unless T-Nation supports the bar, they’d stale before we could turn the inventory.
What style and flavor(s) do we make? One thing’s for certain, the feedback on the topic has been indecisive.
Price. We only produce the best, and the best cost about 95 cents a bar (including shipping and packaging) – this is our cost. Will T-Nation pay for a quality bar?[/quote]
I don’t eat a lot of bars currently because of all the crappy soy protein out there, but I would be willing to pay for a quality bar.
If you’re looking to maximize volume after a large sunk investment per lot of bars, I will say that I would buy more at $2/bar than I would at $3/bar, but that’s probably a given. =-)
I would definately be excited if the grow bars came back. I used to pay around $18-20 for a box of 12, but since biotest stopped making them I have stopped buying bars altogether. Please bring them back! I think it is reasonable to pay between $20-25 for a box. When you consider the quality of the meal and the convenience they are a steal.
I’d Love to see the GROW! Bars come back! I regularly pay 2-3 dollars(US) for a ‘decent’ protein bar. If biotest can make the same high quality protein found in my GROW! Shakes into the bars, that’s just good stuff.
one caveat though, I’d like to see less glycerine and sugar alchohol content in any of the bars, and more(if this is possible) whole grain content, like oats or rice flour or something, for a better insulin response(not that the old ones had a bad IR or anything…I wouldnt know)
just a thought
my votes for flavors:
-Chocolate mint
-Cookies N cream
-Chocolate peanut butter

It occurs to me that this is a very real failure in the industry.
Everybody makes meal replacement bars that taste like dessert. Why not make a meal replacement bar that tastes like dinner? I’m sure the dog food industry has a trick or two they could teach us. (Stop retching! Who else makes meat-flavored biscuit?)
Any idea when they are coming. I am leaving Aug. 18 to go back to Bangkok with my wife for 6 months. I do not think I can lug 6 months worth of Low Carb Grow! with me .
However, if the bars are available before than than that might be another case.
So currently I pray every night that when I check T-mag in the morning there will be Grow! Bars offered.
Also, in Thailand there is not shit offered in the form of supplementation. So this is my only hope.
