Grow! Bars Available Yet?

Are these available yet? the site says not but I wanted to be sure. Also I see them compared to Detour bars… I have been using them and I have to say there is not much sugar in it. Only 5 grams, why are they so bad? If Grow! bars are available I will get some but if not what is a better option? Without getting expensive? I can get these for $1 at walmart. Thanks for the input, sorry to mention another product, like I said it appears the Grow! bar is unavailable at this time.

I’m guessing most of us don’t really want soy proteins if we can avoid them, though some of the other factors may indeed be in the same ballpark – such as 21g of carbs listed.

You obviously need to do a bit more research. Sugars can be a factor in making a bar good or not but there’s a variety of other ingredients as well. A large amount of glycerin being one of them, soy protein, amount of dietary fiber from the wheat elements, etc.

I just noticed they do have some soy blended… Ok, so when are the Grow! bars available? I would like to try them.

I have too many other things to research… lol. I mainly wanted to know if they are available since the store says they are not. If they are not, what is a decent alternative that won’t break the bank. Since apparently the Designer whey brand is not that good, what should I look at?

I am in the process of trying to plan out my meals so that I will not need the bar, but I would still like to have them around for a back up.

No decent replacement for Grow! bars that I know of.

So how about an ETA? Going to be available in the next quarter, maybe?

There’s no decent replacement for a non-existent product? And what happened to Carbolin-19 being ready around Valentine’s day?

I like Biotest’s products, but (not surprisingly) many of us plan our workout and diet strategies months in advance, and when we’re told something will be available we plan that in. I appreciate trying to give us early word on things, but when the ETA’s given are almost always wrong it gets tiring and throws off long-term planning.

Is it just me of did the Carbolin-19 win the vote for “what everyone would rather see released”? Instead we get grow bars and they’re still not available? I’m not sure this will even get posted but it seems like somebody is slipping. BTW it’s still a good website but in a world where people want things yesterday, it’s not a good idea to project a release on something then when it never comes out several months later never offer an explanation.

Hey look! Wideguy actually posted something I agree with!

winkwink*

I agree 100%. I work in manufacturing(what’s left of the industry), and it’s my job to produce my company’s goods in a timely manner, to do otherwise is not good business practice. But shit does happen, machines break down, shipping screws up, I can’t get raw material, ect. But this is getting frustrating. I know we never got exact dates but the Grow! bars were mentioned to bout available for purchase some time ago, Carbolin-19 was said to be out around the end of Feb with a little luck and it’s now April. I don?t think anyone will argue that Biotest makes some if not THE best supps on the planet and T-Nation is an invaluable resource given to us for free, but I guess I don?t understand when there is an obvious demand for product, customers practically begging to send you money, you don?t deliver?

I think Biotest shouldn’t bother hyping up a product and then making us wait months before they deliver. I would rather them keep quite and just surpries us with new stuff. Whatever supp they put out most if not all of us will buy into it.

Joe

If I recall correctly, Cy never wanted to give a release date on Carbolin 19 and only gave an estimate after being begged to do so.

What’s the big deal? Just buy what’s available that you want. I’m sure they (Biotest) want to get the products to the market as soon as possible. I respect the fact they they are not making compromises to rush products to the market.

It’s a cocktease. I think most people are annoyed that we aren’t being kept in the loop at all. Biotest makes great supplements, they get us all excited about them, tell us how wonderful they’re going to be and then… don’t mention them again for two or three months. Especially now that Tim no longer writes a Behind the Scenes column, we really have no way to get info except the random postings of TC or Cy, which are frequently at the ends of threads that then drop off the front page. It’s frustrating.

Well, Cy seems like a science guy to me and such types often are not involved once a product goes to production, so I never understood the fascination with getting hung up on a date he gives.

I imagine that Tim and TC would have a better handle on such things since they’re likely more involved in the overall scheme of things. However, I believe TC wrote something to the extent that he doesn’t like giving release dates due to all the factors involved. My job entails bringing products to the market, so I understand what he’s talking about. I can only imagine the complexity of issues ranging from trademarks/patents, raw material procurement, formulation, and production just to name a few involved with the relatively wide range of items they produce.

I understand getting a little excited about upcoming new products, but I can’t believe that people actually include such things in their long-term plans before they are even available.

I love Biotest supplements, but some people need to get a hobbie or something.

For most of us on here, fitness is our main hobby and Biotest products are a big part of our diet.

I raised TC’s ire several months back when we had to go 3 months without Surge and I said they needed to hire someone to manage their production better. The response was that they don’t have their own manufacturing plant so they have to contract out and sometimes raw materials shipments don’t arrive on time, equipment malfunctions, etc. It is frustrating indeed, especially for those of us who wait to put in orders over $150 to take advantage of the free shipping. I have been out of Alpha Male for a month because I have been waiting for the Grow! Bars to come out.

I hope there is still Alpha Male available when these finally come out, otherwise I will shit my pants out of anger (not that TC will care that I have a load in my pants). I blame the woman in Haiti who makes this stuff in her kitchen;) Until it comes out, we all have to wait.

We should all keep in mind that Biotest is constantly outdoing other companies’ products by making supplements that “really” work. So if they need another month or so and the product will be of even better quality than first expected, or of the same quality I would rather wait. We all benefit from the research and tests they do to ensure their products do as they’re suppose to. New technology takes time as well as making a quality product.

And besides, maybe they’re just being very intelligent marketers and holding out a little to stir up a buzz.

Nothing wrong with being a smart businessperson.

I love Biotest products as much as the next man, but they are far from the only supplement company that makes products that “really” work.

I was gonna reply to this guy but you hit the nail on the head already. This guy comes to the supplements section of a weight lifting forum and tells us we need to get a hobby because we are talking a about the availability of Biotest supplements in a thread devoted to the availability of Biotest supplements. Guess what, THIS IS ONE OF OUR HOBBIES genius.

He also “can’t believe” that we make plans for using products based on the release dates we’re given. Try this: “Hey, product X is coming out in March, I’ll be bulking in March and need a product like X, I think I’ll work that into my bulking strategy.” Pretty obvious stuff here folks.

That said, can we get an update on Grow bars? I don’t need an exact release date. Are you printing the labels? Are you getting the materials together? Are you stalled because of a failure somewhere?

In a nutshell, should I buy a 3 month supply of another bar because Grow bars won’t be here until end of summer at the earliest, or should I wait because Grow bars will be here by end of April?

I agree. But i also think that as an overall supplement company they are on top of their game. The problem with (MOST-I’m not saying all) supplement companies is they create one great product and fill the rest of their product line with half-ass supplements.
