Whats a weekly grocery list look like for everybody?
apples, bananas, oranges, frozen berries, carrots, broccoli, brussels sprouts, bell peppers, beef, bacon, sausage, eggs, chicken, kefir, whipping cream, cashew butter, cookies and/or frozen pizza
those are usually the weekly things
non-weekly things bought in bulk: walnuts, cashews, flax seeds, EVOO, coconut oil, frozen fish when on sale, dark chocolate
'bout 16lbs of gummy worms. Can’t get enough gummy worms.
Nah, actually, it’s painfully boring:
-Beef, usually a mixture of cheap cuts and some high quality rib-eye (the best!) or striploin…
-Chicken breast and thighs…
-Spinach
-Kale
-Parsley
-…sick of typing this out already, pretty much just a fuckload of vegetables…nothing starchy except sweet potatoes…
-Frozen berries. I eat a ridiculous amount of these. Go through several kilos a week
-Quinoa
-Walnuts/Almonds…
-Ezekiel Bread
-Pasture butter
-Eggs
-Some fast-acting post-workout crap, like Pop-Tarts or Licorice All-sorts (I love you England for inventing these things)
Thanks for the replies guys, first year in college is next year and I’ve budgeted $50 per week for food so just thought I’d try and steal some ideas, keep em coming.

In Canada anyway, Cost-Co (Kirkland) actually has some damned good cuts of beef for very cheap. Surprising, but true.
Try and find a farmer’s market nearby, you’ll get fruits, vegetables and eggs for dirt cheap, all top quality.
Check out places like amazon.com for deals on bulk EVOO, Coconut Oil, etc.
I’m poor as hell so,
6-7 dozen eggs
Bag of shredded cheese
2-3kg roast
8-10 Bunches of asparagus or baby broccoli
Double cream
Usually spend about $80 a week. Would be even cheaper in the states
3-4 dozen eggs
bag of baby spinach
2 of each colour(red, green, yellow) capsicums(bell peppers)
mushrooms
2-3 sweet potatoes
2-3 normal potatoes
corn
spring onions
15 sticks of celery
bag of carrots
maybe some apples and oranges
meat: 2 t bone steaks, cevacepi(skinless sausages), about 1kg of skinless chicken, 1kg of mince.
2L of milk
some raw peanut butter
and bird seed.
Tip of the day: only buy your nuts in small quantities to prevent you from eating 2kg of nuts in one sitting.

When I bought food last year for college, I spent roughly $40-50 a week. All I bought was
Chicken
Eggs
Frozen vegetables
Butter (for cooking eggs)
peanuts
oatmeal
pickles
hot sauce
white rice
peanut butter
That was it every time.

I use 40-45 grams post-workout only w/50 grams of whey. I use ON Serious Mass, but as others have said any simple starch will work.
Usually hit Sam’s Club once or twice a month for cheaper bulk items like:
Frozen blueberries
Frozen chicken breasts
Big bottle of olive oil
Big bags of walnuts and almonds
The weekly Sunday shopping is typically 45 bucks or so. Always the same foods, always the same meals:
Veggies: Frozen Normamdy (broccoli, carrots, cauliflower)
Broccoli sprouts
Bag of coleslaw (I throw out the bag of dressing inside just so I can get the mixed shredded cabbage)
Tomatoes
Watercress or Kale
Spinach
Fruits:
Bananas for protein shakes
Kiwi
Avocado
One or two bags of frozen blackberries or raspberries (usually a sale on one or the other)
Organic peanut butter
Two or three pounds of ground round or sirloin
Two jugs of almond milk
Greek yogurt
Heavy whipping cream
I like something sweet to drink but try to avoid diet soda so those newer Gatorades with like 7 grams of sugar do the trick.
If I want diet soda, I get Diet Dad’s Root Beer because it’s the only one I’ve found without Aspartame
I get eggs from free range chickens from some guy in town: Two bucks for a dozen. So awesome.
I might get a can of black beans, corn and garbanzo beans and mix with lemon juice and a touch of apple cidar vinegar if I’m feeling adventurous.
I have a buddy here in Madison who owns a supplement store so I get the core supps like Whey and Creatine and aminos for cheap about every month or two.
If I want to add some cals, I’ll get some Snickers bars and eat two before lifting.
Shop every Sunday then cook every Sunday for the rest of the week. Takes two hours or so to cover all my bases and then I’m set for the week. Having the food cooked and ready saves me time each night. It also keeps me from cheating because I know it’s already cooked, bought and paid for. And eating the same foods makes figuring cals and macros a breeze.
I see whipping cream a lot in these lists, what are you guys using it for?

as in how are we consuming or why?
I put it in 2 of my shakes. Was using 3-4 TBSP/day, now down to 2 TBSP/day.
50 calories per TBSP

I use it loads to make sauces.
