Says it has 130 calories and 23 grams of protein per cup (fat free). That’s compared to about 140 cals and only 10 grams of protein for normal unsweetened Yogurt. Is that for real? It tastes BETTER but that’s like 70% protein. It has the nutrition of cottage cheese and tastes like some kind of dessert cream.
greek yogurt is awesome. No, the label isn’t lying

Yes. And lower in lactose (if that matters to you.)
It’s not a big deal on the Balkans. Most countries here have their own yogurt with even more protein, low and high fat, good taste etc. Dunno how it is in the US, but here it’s pretty cheap.
Yes, for real.
Yes it is for real.
I love greek yogurt, it’s a staple for me. And don’t forget the healthy bacteria as well.
It also has good bacteria for gut health but honestly who cares, yeah dude it has a bunch of protein!
It’s delicious, but I wish it wasn’t so expensive at least where I live.

Make your own!!!
Just curious, does yogurt have the same protein content (casein) as cottage cheese? I haven’t had greek yogurt in a while and cottage cheese can get tiring, especially if you’re downing more than a pound before bed.

I agree. I’ve switched back to regular for the past few months. It’s half the price

Yes it does. If anything, it has less whey and MORE casein.
What was the brand of yogurt? What should I look for in the store?
I just got some Oikos greek yogurt and it is actually really good. I may put some in my PWO shakes or use it as an addition to my breakfast.
Long before all these designer Greek yogurts came out a couple of years ago, my Greek mom and grandmothers made their own yogurt - which is far better than all of these brands.
On the other hand, all these companies just strain the yogurt to make it thick. It’s as easy as sitting regular, store-brand yogurt in cheesecloth for a several hours. I’ve been doing it for years, and it’s a little cheaper that way too. Plus, if it’s too thick you can add some liquid back in.
To change it up after you strain it, put a little lemon juice, olive oil, dill, salt and a few cloves of minced garlic for tzatziki.
Didn’t even think to check the difference in protein quantities in yogurt! Next shop though. Where I shop i find the cheapest stuff tends to me fat free then my only choices for full fat are expensive (£1.50 500grams).
Am I right in thinking almost all yogurt is majority casien then? And having one any time is definitely good? Cos man, I love yogurt as a snack so much more then anything else and it’s like milk, except I can handle it fine!
