I’m not an expert but I disagree with most of your points.
To begin one of the most overlooked aspect of boxing is their footwork. When I say overlooked I mean even pro boxers overlook this. I would go as far as to say Only the Elite seem to concentrate on their footwork enough to match their hands. Sugar Ray, Pac, Tyson when he first started, Hearns and Bhop are examples of fighters that were able to stay at of the direct path of their opponent. This is important because it changes the environment of tucking your chin and staying in the pocket. I would think even against MMA opponents if you stay at off angles well enough their options are greatly reduced. Reducing the size of the target is only half the lesson, chin tucked did give an advantage when both fighters throw punches at the same time, but Bernard isn’t recommending he walk into punches just because it is.

Machida’s natural stance is a very similar, actual basics of martial arts. Which stance is sideways anyway. To give Machida a full target is to give him an assortment of different attacks to use. But a reduced target while also standing at off angles means he has to change his footwork every time he goes to attack. Many of his wins were more because of patience and people walking into his punches, kicks and take downs.
IMHO

it’s much more difficult to “stay in the pocket” when you are a southpaw against orthodox
