I heard non blacks say the word when saying hello to a black friend, and no one got upset… I heard it said by a person who was not black in a derogatory way and yes people were offended. Some people use it to mean a person is ignorant. Some people use it to as a reminder of what had happened and to not forget. WHO said that Blacks are ok with it? the answer is no. Were people offended when Kramer said the N-word? Yes,because he is a racist and the manner in which he was using the word.

TBH, I am a backwoods country boy, but yet I really don’t have a reason to hate any race. I cant say I like many races outside of light skinned people, because thats who I like to talk to and be around, but If I did ever make friends with a person of a different race, I would accept them with no problem.

Actually, Tom has a good point. My grand father worked in the mines here in western PA in the early part of the 1900’s. Main reason being that it was about the only place that you could get employed when your name started with Mc, Mac or O’. His take on race- “Down there, everybody is black.”. He hated Poles though.
