Gratuitous Use of the N Word?

You’ve gained even more respect from me dude.

Not that any other caucasion or non-black posters on this site who are against racism have any less respect from me. You guys are awesome in my book as well. (Caveat over)

I also had a black football player in my avi. But I had clarified that point a few times.

I Lived with some guys for a summer while I was at home from school. They were from Jamaica, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia. So we have one white guy, one black guy, two brown guys. The amount of “racist” words that were thrown around in that house was incredible. cracker, white boy, nigga, sand-nigga, durka durka, etc. We all didn’t give a fuck because we knew no one actually meant any of the words that were said. Everyone was being called every word. As soon as we stepped out of the house though, we dished that sort of talk because we know other people may take offense to it.

WTF?

I’ve never even heard of those words before so how do they equal the same as something as widely known as the “n word” with a relevant social history less than 20 years old?

Of course they don’t get upset if it has almost ZERO significant meaning today.

LOL!!
But that being said, why nit understand why it offends blacks? It’s not polite talk and every with an iq over six knows that. So don’t say it. You wouldn’t say fuck in front of grandma or your minister. Grow up and learn done social graces regardless of race.

I know my father didn’t tolerate any racial slurs. They’re just not necessary .
Who the fuck are you talking to? Big and I have both written that we and our friends don’t use it…so who are you speaking to?

If I ever do use it, you can bet the context and the company I keep when doing so will be respectful of the word and situation.

No one needs you for life lessons, pops.
Relevant or not, there’s nothing wrong with talking politely. Also, comparing who was the greater victim never amounts to anything. You weren’t around 50 years ago. I wasn’t around when some of my descendants were humping it in mines in the 1920s. Back in the day when your dad died and they dumped the body on the front porch with a bill for his damaged equipment and gave you three days to come up with a son to work there or the family was out on the street.

Boo hoo, life sucked for great grand dad. I have to slum it in my office and stress about my bills. He stressed about a mine shaft collapsing on his head. Not quite the same.

I don’t care what people say to each other. I have other worries than racism. Here’s a hint, you’ll never fix it if it exists. And if it doesn’t you just carry an unnecessary weight around. It’s like trying to run a sprint with an 84 lb x vest on. Good luck with that.

I’ll stick to worrying about my kid’s health, their grades, my business, taxes and other stuff. These are things I can help with and maybe change. Race I can’t change, attitude I can.

the most racist people I have met are the bottom of the barrel lazy ass fill in the blank low lifes. Mexicans who don’t work here hate the Dominicans who don’t work who hate the Puerto Ricans who don’t work who hate the whites and blacks who don’t work. It’s a battle of the scumbags.

The family types worry about their jobs and families. Kids need to get to soccer practice. Homework needs to be done. Bills have to be paid. I had some welfare low life in my office complaining about the niggers a few years back. These piece of crap had four kids from three guys, welfare, and home made prison tatoos.

People here who have decent lives don’t worry about the dirt bags. We have other things to do. There’s a life lesson for you. Drop the chip from your shoulder and be a doctor. Be a good one. People will like you and will use your services. The people who don’t like you based on race aren’t worth your time.
This ia actually a very valid point put up, I am a chinese so I may never full understand the issues behind the “N” word eventhough I have read about some related stuff (aparthied, affirmative action etc". Was getting more and more confused as I read on until this post offer me a moment of clarity

Yeah we did that sort of thing in the army too.
Sometimes you’re joking around with a guy calling him a stupid Pollack then he asks where your parents are from and then he just calls you a dumb (country your parents are from). That’s all in good fun.

Such an irrelevant topic…The main question here is if you are white, why do you care? The word does not pertain to you an any shape, fashion or form, I if I saw a Chinese person calling another Chinese person a “chink”, the LAST thought in my head is, “well damn how come i cant call him chink”. I love how the whole politically correct issue has been intertwined with racism.

Truth is the one has NOTHING to do with the other, But since most who have a burning desire to display racism, classism, or any other -isms are scared to let their colors fly freely they hide it behind bullshit phrases like Political Correctness. Get over it and yourselves, the very question of why someone cant use a word Nigga, and the fact that you care, shows a great deal of ignorance and intolerance, aka racism.

Racism is not a temperment it is a thought process, those termed “racists” display racism on a regular basis, You dont have to be a “racist” to display racism.
People think because theyre not burning crosses or giving black power salutes their not racists, and thats why Racism will never die out, BECAUSE CHILDREN HEAR ALL, even the most innocuous phrases and terms used.

So as long as you CARE, why you cant use a word, or that your the only one of a race in a certain place, or believe that discrimination is “over” despite reality, nothing will ever go away and Dumbass questions like this will keep surfacing year after year.

Fun Facts: If you have to make a disclaimer that your not racist before or after you ask a question, thats racism, if you classify yourself as being the “only white guy, or black guy in any given place,” thats racism.

Yeah…I wonder what else could pull him out of lurking mode?

Let’s start other sensitive topics:

 1. Abortion: Where do you stand on it?
 2. Religion: Holy Sh#T you believe what!?!??!
 3. Cats are gay. Dogs are straight
 4. Women: Why do we let them vote/leave the house/ stop cooking?
 5. Star Trek VS Star Wars
 6. Having sex with women is pretty gay when you think about it. I mean c’mon…they’re women.

That’s all I got.

What’s up guys? I just joined and got side tracked when Pootie Tang posted that bitches picture. God Damn, she is smoking. I just sent the pic to my girlfriend and told her I was bringing her home for us tonight !! Yes, I have a good life.

Anyway, first off, I am white and if any white dude says the “N” word in front of a bunch of black dudes, those Black dudes should be scared shit bc that white dude is ready to die and either he has a Bomb on his ass or he is retarded.

I have Black friends and would never use that word in front of them, it is a nasty ass word no matter what race u r referring to. PEACE GUYS!!!

LMAO, is it just me or does it seem like a lot of white people are scared shitless of black people? There are several posts in this thread talking about how they can’t say the N word without getting their asses kicked. If we were talking about asians would there be nearly as many people talking about how they can’t say the word chink in a room full of asians because they would get their asses kicked?

Why do people find blacks soooo scary? They’re just people… If they’re ghetto then ya they might wanna throw down, but as someone said before, go to a white ghetto, or mexican ghetto, or walk up on a few asian gangsters and call them zipperheads and you’ll also get your ass beat. But that type of reaction is more dependant on class then it is color.

If we were to really analyze people, I wonder what percentage of the population is, generally speaking, afraid of black people. I bet it’d be pretty significant.

How many people posted in this just as an excuse to say it :P.

I don’t know about cats, but cat owners are indisputably gay.

We let them work because the pool boys and landscapers were banging them when we left them at home.

Kirk will fuck up Luke any day of the week with his karate chops.

The funny part is, it’s not just white people who are afraid of black people. Black people are too.

They had a candid camera thing on TV the other day where they had an actor in “distress” to see if people would stop and help. People would stop to help a white guy 3 times as much as a black guy. BUT there was little difference in reference to the race of the person passing by. Meaning blacks wouldn’t stop to help the black guy either.

I’m not sure what that says about society, but it’s interesting.

Didn’t read the whole thread and don’t really care to, I just want to point out that the term “reverse discrimination” makes no fucking sense. It’s just “discrimination”, regardless of the source. “Reverse discrimination” is in and of itself a discriminatory term. Oh, and black folk are the best at taking something once used as a slight and turning it into a positive. That’s how we have chitlins, ox tails, collard greens to eat and the “N” word as a term of endearment.

Other black people not stopping does not mean they were afraid of them. It means they didn’t want to help.

I agree with hispanicsumurai, I see straight fear in some people’s eyes that I do not see with other hispanics, blacks or even asians to the same degree.

Someone also mentioned how we NEVER see some post about how some white guy can’t say the word Chink in public.

There are white comedians all over comedy central using the word “nigger” and people are laughing…so why do some of you have such a problem unless you are literally using the word in a racist manner?

If you are, you deserve what you get.

Period.

I was drawing from personal experience not just the TV special. However, I should probably mention that most of that is dealing with black women not black men.

CNN did a segment on American youth and racism a couple months ago. They showed little grade school kids flash cards of different races and asked them questions. The black kids were asked to point out who the bad people were or some such…they pointed at the black kids in the picture, it was heartbreaking to watch. I didn’t catch the whole segment though, the kids looked to be about grade one age.
