Grand Theft Auto

You got any kids?

Not that I know of.

Usually I also get annoyed when I get kid advice from people who don’t have any, but in Prof’s case he actually makes sense.

It’s not rocket science: if you have kids, take responsability for their education and for making them valuable members of society when they become adults. It’s not very hard, just spend time with them talking, doing stuff and answering two million questions.

If you don’t want that responsability, then don’t have kids and live it up. We’re not at the colony stage anymore where every extra pair of hand can help around the farm…

I really hate it when I see a couple who’s had kids to keep up with the neighbors or because their parents were pressuring them. The kids get left to themselves most of the time, and later the parents wonder why their little angels have no self-esteem and are destructive little brats.

My feeling is that you can’t shield your kids from the outside world. The best thing to do is educate them to learn how behave responsibly and react to what they encounter. Always worked for my family. Our parents let us watch violent movies and play video games. So fat none of us have gone on any crime sprees.

Let me clear a couple things up that most people fail to realize about the mod in gta. The sex scenes are in the game but the programers put a flag in the code that doesnt make it possible to access the scences. Simply what happend is they were messing around with the game during its creation and left it in, which I believe to be perfectly fine. The sex scences are not accessable to people unless they modify the code. This is where hilery clinton comes in and not knowing anything about anything fights against it because she is a communist liberal piece of shit. Now if a kid is smart enough to modify the game to make the sex scences playable im sure as hell sure the kid is smart enough to log onto google and type in the word porn… What really is hilerious is that the only way to play the sex scences on xbox or playstation is if your system is modified with a special chip, which is illegal bye the way. For the computer its different you have to switch a file with the downloaded mod file, which again most kids couldnt do. So basicaly the government lead by chief dike hilery clinton killed gta. From what ive heard this will be the last gta because of what happend…

One is tempted to think that the game makers knew the kind of response that this new mod would get, and were banking on the great publicity for the game. It’s also reminiscent of the Paris Hilton burger commercial.

Nope. Because of the “Adults Only” Rating, some big retailers will no longer sell it (i.e. Walmart). Therefore, the game company will have to buy back all the games. They already anounced they are reducing earnings by about 50 million dollars.

Whats terrible about this is that for xbox and ps2 there is no reason to have to buy them back since the scences can only be accessed if the person has a modded system (which is illegal). SO basically rockstar games is getting mauled by the man. Its funny how public ignorance can kill.

By the time most kids play this game, they’ve fantasized about raunchier things than can be seen in GTA. Guaranteed.

No, I don’t see what you’re saying. Are you saying that you should NOT watch what your kids are playing on their video game systems? Are you saying that a Mature rating isn’t enough of a flag for a parent to monitor what a game is about? Are you saying that a parent is so busy that paying attention to what their kids do is outside of the realm of reality? Please, tell me where I am wrong in what I stated before.

While I may not have kids of my own, I am not immune to the concept of the attention needed when raising one. Are you saying you should ban items from the rest of society simply because you feel you don’t have time to raise your kids?

You don’t bow in reverence towards the Nutmeg State already?

Ah, I missed the bulk of your first post. I just skimmed over most of this thread and just kind of got the, “The kids are gonna watch, do, and see bad stuff anyway. Just forget about it.” I hear ya more clear now.

hahaha hell ya kuz ! you guys got some preeety frickn good pizza down there ! but i hear your tossed salads are a wee bit dry. hahaha !

I don’t know about all the versions, but the one for PS2 is awesome. It’s a good time on so many different levels.

I read some of you saying that you need a chip, or a code to put the sex on. You can pick up hookers, and have sex with them anytime you want without any chip. You just need to get your sex appeal up first. If there is more sex then this, please let me know.

Also, just for the record I don’t think that this game contributes directly to the violence in our society, unless you already have issues to begin with, however I don’t think that kids should play this game based on the disrespect for woman, authority and disregard for human life.

Other than that…it’s the best game ever. If you have a problem with that I’ll kill you.

Go on baby, I ain’t insecure, tell me I’m great.

So many places I could go with that salads comment… and none of them good. LOL At least the pizza is pretty good (although the way some people in CT talk about it, you would think it was ambrosia handed down by the gods).

Kuz

PS GO SOX!

“How can youo drive if you’re blind?”

“awe, damn. My ride. Did you buy your licence?”

Several of you have said that modded systems are illegal. What makes them illegal in the US? The DMCA doesn’t necessarily make mod-chips illegal, unless there’s some precedent I’m unaware of. They are illegal in Australia, or so I’ve read.

Haha, nice. I had definitely seen worse than that by the time I was 14. When I was a horny little teenager there was pretty much nothing that could stand in my way and prevent me from getting my hands on some good hardcore porno.

But yeah, I definitely see something wrong with a society that is more uptight about sex than it is about violence.

Good point, nephorm. I think people are likely confusing the idea of them being illegal with how Microsoft deems those mods to be some sort of copyright or intellectual property violation (an argument I’ve never quite come to grips with given the fact that once I buy the system, how is Microsoft’s intellectual property rights affected by what I do with it unless I am making a knock-off copycat or something?)

[quote]doogie wrote:

Maybe.

When my Dad was growing up Jerry Lee Lewis was going to turn all the teenagers into devil worshipers. Didn’t happen. When I was about 14 movies like Rambo and Hamburger Hill were going to turn me into a psycho killer. Didn’t happen. Now I’m supposed to beleive that a game like Grand Theft Auto is going to turn my kid into a car stealing, cop killing, hooker fucking menace? I don’t see it happening.
