Govt Tracking Your Car

Next time you go out…

Pretty sure that is completely legal. There is no expectation of privacy while you’re driving around on public roads.

Are you comfortable with it?

Different question: What do you think Thomas Jefferson would have had to say about this?

Yet another way of disposing with the presumption of innocence.

Take pictures just in case, like that article said- “To solve future crimes”.

I’m not entirely sure. I don’t think it’s 100% necessary but i’m not the one out there trying to solve and respond to criminal activity. I really am not threatened by it as is. It’s legal and if it puts more criminals behind bars and protects the law abiding why not? There is a slippery slope, however. But it can always be challenged on it’s constitutionality.

I respect the hell out of the founders and it’s amazing they gave us the structure to deal with these issues ourselves without their input. Pretty much, I have no idea what he would say lol.

Very, very slippery.

But don’t worry, we’ve been sliding at breakneck speed down that hill for years now.

How about they put cameras at every streetlight, including those in your neighborhood, as well? Because “there is no expectation of privacy while you’re driving around on public roads,” and those are public roads in front of your house.

For your own safety…of course.

They already have cameras on street lights catching people run reds so there really isn’t anything stopping them from putting cameras on every street light other than $$. Same thing as having a squad car on every public road observing. Perfectly legal just not happening due to money. From what I hear about Detroit this may be a good idea.

Holy Fuck, there are horseless carriages!

You know things are bad when conservatives are supporting the ACLU

No joke.

Yeah, like I said. We’re halfway to BigBrothersville already. Enjoy the ride down.

Big government won’t be happy until they monitor, control, regulate and oversee every aspect of your life. For your own safety and the good of all, of course.

What could ever go wrong?

Some Brits should give their opinion. I’m under the impression that they have cameras everywhere in the London area? How does this effect the average person? As I find it strange and I hate the idea that I’m being watched I don’t do anything that would get me into shit on such said cameras. I think they have helped to solve alot of crimes, one remembers the google earth picture of some kids stealing another guys bike and the google go go bot captured their images and the police used the pictures to identify the bike thieves.

I feel the same way, like don’t take it to far because no one really polices the police so if your getting in shit for minor infractions it would be an annoyance.

Well what do you know, I found one of the founding father’s opinions on this matter after all. Here’s what Ben Franklin had to say about cameras on every street corner:

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but for this matter, I think I’m going to side with old Ben, rather than the current crop of bought and sold politburo lackeys and arm-chair internet apologists.

If this article is true then why the fuck did it take so long to figure out who the DC snipers were? Fuck it we’ll just watch average people so if they break their routine we know their fucking a prosty behind a burger king.

How about if they turn the cameras from the street into the window of your home? I mean, the cameras are still on the street, right? And they are ONLY there to prevent crime, because our benevolent government overseers would NEVER, EVER overextend their reach and use those cameras for anything other than simple crime solving after the fact, right? And if you aren’t doing anything wrong, you shouldn’t have anything to worry about…right?

Right?

But then, since they are so good for crime solving, why not just drop all these silly appurtenances and apprehensions and put them to full use (for our own safety and the good of the people, of course), as crime prevention devices. It only makes sense…right?

Right?

But then…shall I go on?

These are the same people, by the way, who want all your guns.

And this does not scare the shit out of you?

Delete the records a after a year or two and I have absolutely no problem with this.
