So, this kid calls me up today and asks me how much I would charge to be present with him during police questioning. So I say “Well, how much do you have to spend?” He tells me he has $12,000 dollars. Funny thing is my brother’s a detective working a murder/robbery case where the victim was found shot up in a bathroom and was missing 12,000 dollars.
I agree to help him out for$600 dollars (I’m going to charge him a lot more of course). After I set up a time to consult tonight at 6 I called my brother at the station and gave him the kids name. Turns out that he is a suspect in the murder of the kid in the bathroom.
Also, according to my brother, he has a history of violence (the kid I MIGHT represent). Shit gets thicker, turns out he not only has a history of violence but has been the perpetrator AND the victim of assault from, you guessed it, the murder/robbery victim!!
So, I guess my question is, should I uphold my integrity as a lawyer and rob this kid (through legal fees) get him charged and “lose the case” and get him 25 to life? Or should I just sit back and advise? I mean it could be entertaining… let me know
