from my time in argentina -

ataque 77 for bad religion esque rock

catupecu machu for alterna-hard rock

bersuit vergarabat for a little bit of everything, very diverse and very talented

los divididos are another band that has moments of brilliance, not totally my style but still cool

everybody in argentina thinks charlie garcia and soda stereo are gods but I dont get it, and I saw charlie garcia play. maybe youd like them.

Also, as a baby step to non US stuff in weird languages you can start with Manu Chau, he is also all over the place stylistically. I would LOVE to see him live.[/quote]

i saw him in brooklyn two summers ago. awesome.

Buenos Aires, Callao y Santa Fe

cool. i live in caballito, a few blocks from primera junta. this country is quite the experience.

Soda Stereo
El cuarteto de nos

Which kind of music?

nice, I had a class up that way. I did a year abroad in 2002 - the devaluation, the corralito, 6 presidents in 2 weeks, and losing in the first round of the world cup after going in the favorite - it was quite the experience then as well.
