That shit was awesome.

I’m looking for GOOD Spanish music, not artists that are Spanish and make English speaking music.

Modern rock would be cool.

Hip hop would be cool, not raggaeton.

And I’m looking for not so popular shit.[/quote]

There is a such thing?

Uh, well Ill Nino (squiggly thing over the second n) is awesome and they have a few spanish only albums. Nonpoint did a few spanish only songs too- theyre from south florida.

A.N.I.M.A.L. i think is actually portugese, but i got to hand with them at the 99 warped tour and there pretty good punk/ska.

These aren’t exactly modern rock like Nickelback or some other shitty band, but they are good.

And the best thing is theyre not hip hop or reggeaton, which actually lower your free T if you listen to more than one song in a row.

Its true, look it up yourself.

Dude I work in a shop that is atleast 40% mexican (i hope that doesnt offend anyone,There from Mexico) and we listen to mexican music for acouple hours everyday and it rediculous, It fucking sucks.I know I havnt heard all mexican music but the crap I have heard defies logic it is so bad.

from my time in argentina -

ataque 77 for bad religion esque rock

catupecu machu for alterna-hard rock

bersuit vergarabat for a little bit of everything, very diverse and very talented

los divididos are another band that has moments of brilliance, not totally my style but still cool

everybody in argentina thinks charlie garcia and soda stereo are gods but I dont get it, and I saw charlie garcia play. maybe youd like them.

Also, as a baby step to non US stuff in weird languages you can start with Manu Chau, he is also all over the place stylistically. I would LOVE to see him live.

Case and point

This is the shit I listen to at work on a daily basis.

Dude, that’s not the only kind of spanish music out there. And besides, cumbia is not mexican it’s columbian. The thread is about SPANISH music. Things like cumbia, salsa, corridos, all the really ethnic sounding stuff, is more traditional type music, and is sort of like latin americas equivalent to old school country music, or whatever old white folk consider traditional and really american. Most people will think it sucks ass unless you were raised in that sort of culture. I enjoy some of the more traditional stuff, especially if it has an awesome dance beat, but I mostly listen to spanish rock, and it comes from different places, Argentina, Columbia, Spain, NOT just Mexico. You sounded ignorant when you said that shit. I don’t see what the point of coming into this thread and hating when you clearly don’t know shit about Spanish music. Detazatoth or whatever his name is posted an awesome link, you should check it out. Spanish guitar playing is God’s gift to the ears.

I like some music similar to that which are called “corridos”. Which where my parents are from in Sinaloa, is very popular. Cause the area is notorious when it comes to drug trafficking, mafia cartels and corridos!!

Like In these songs they’re talking about smuggling drugs, drinking, women, shutting up shit talkers, friends/enemies getting shot, favorite weapons, bad ass trucks government officials and all kinds of crazy shit!

EXACTLY Horsepuss has only listened to all the older stuff that people like me grew up on and which has more meaning to us.

You know, I never understood dance hall till I hung out in Nassau with some friends of mine who live there.

And I didnt get salsa till I backpacked in colombia.

I still think cumbia sucks haha.

Sometimes you cant get where they are coming from until you get hammered around people who know how to have a good time listening to their music. It made no sense in my white suburban life beforehand.
