By good, I mean powerful, long lasting and not overly noisy.
I have gone through about 3 of them in the last year.
I am probably burning out the motors because I like really thick shakes and sometimes let the blender run for 2+ minutes. I make shakes 1-3 times daily.
Any suggestions for a inexpensive, quiet, powerful, & long lasting blender(if one exists)?
I know you mentioned cheap blenders, but if you’re killing a few a year, that ain’t cheap.
anyway, i was on a crusade last year to find the perfect blender, since, like you, i also prefer my grow shakes thick and smooth. after a bit of internet research, and short of buying an industrial model, i think i found the holy grail - a bosch mmb 2000.
yep, it’s pricey, but it’s also purrrrty and works like a charm. plus it has a huge jug (and big jugs are always nice) and a sleek design.
in short, this thing rocks, and i’ve already warned my girlfriend that in the event of a divorce, this blender is going with me.
No way! on theat Bosch. Go with the Vitamix and you will never buy another blender in at least seven years (Warranty) It is the best thing out there. Look it up at vitamix.com we’re talking 2 horsepower.
I like the hand-held kind. You can use any container you want, cleanup is easier, it doesn’t eat up counter-top space, and yes they are less expensive.
I had a Braun that lasted for over a decade, until the bit holding the blade to the shaft gave out. I replaced it with a Cuisinart unit, for about $35 from Fry’s, I think it was.

Yea it looks wicked impressive but it is almost 400.00 That is pretty steep for something to make shakes with.

I second this, but these are not inexpensive. They can blend just about anything though; make hot soup or cold sorbet, peanut butter, grind grain. Heck I think it can even mix a protein shake!
