Whatever happened to go ol’ names like Rex, Fido, Old Yeller, Lassie, Rin Tin Tin, Duke, Astro, Dino? haha
Why don’t you just name your dog Shithead like Steve Martin did in “The Jerk.”

You WILL get a lot of chicks that will want to play with your pups (especially a boxer pup). So, it is probably better to have a name that elicits an “awwww” response than an “oh” response. I actually have women that will walk out of a tavern to pet my dog Stella. They coo that name all the way out the door. 
All that aside, overly-macho names like Nitro, Cobra and Nuke (I have actually petted them on them on the head) are cliche and unoriginal. Dogs deserve something better than a macho cliche for a name.

I have an American Bulldog/Dalmation mix that I named Tug. Mainly because he tugs my wife down the street on their walks.
My friends named their boxers Mugsy and Renegade - shortened to Ren.
When I get my boxer, I am going to name it “briefs”.
When I got my boxer pup at age 10, I named him Rocky and thought I was soooooo clever. I didn’t met five other boxer owners before I realized that I had basically named my kid John.
