So, anyone familiar with gyms in Palm Springs? I gotta go for a week on biz and they’re the only 2 I recognize that are close to the hotel.
Been to either of those, or other good ones in the area?

I guess there’s a new one (?):

It’s just a hair northwest of the airport.
I’m leaning toward the Gold’s, just because it’s closer. But, if anyone knows of a good smaller gym in the area, that would be great, too!
In case you didn’t know, welcome to gay ville, literally. It will also be pretty warm and dry since its the desert.
Thanks. I’ll keep my finocchio alert on…

LOL.
I do remember that Golds gym. But to be honest, whenever I’ve been out there I’ve been blessed to be able to spend most of my time at the pool, in the casino or on the golf course.
Go for it.
I’ve been to the golds when i was visiting family acouple years ago. Its right next to the airport, and theres a good mexican and shake place next door. Fairly busy, kind of small free weight area for its size. the whole upstairs is cardio, abs, and studio. the downstairs has a ton of machines. oh, and lots of gays
OK, so here I am, 3rd day in Palm Springs-- a city most impressive in it’s unimpressiveness. Take a bunch of strip malls with vanilla stores you can find anywhere in the sprawling US, dump them in the middle of the frikken desert, and plant a bunch of palm trees.
Had a 4.6-7 earthquake this morning, that was exciting.
Found Gold’s. It’s better equipped than my normal gym all round, so worth the visit. Lots of HS machines, a couple T-bar row machines, adequate db’s and bench, cage and sq.rack, and lots of weight on the cable lat pulldown machine, and some actual ‘big dudes’ moving weights, which is a change from my gym.
Thought you guys were being funny about the gay guys-- not that it matters. Two dudes that I’ve seen all this week are pretty big and as soon as I heard them talk, I started laughing because as big as they were they sounded like that sound-bite Howard Stern plays— “Hellllloooo Friiiith-co!”
Very funny. Oh, well it’s obvious they’ve put their time in in the gym, so lots of respect there.
