Going to Hawaii, Need Advice

Shit everyone is recommending Kuaui. I guess I’ll have to as well. Went there for my honeymoon last year along with Oahu & by far if you’re a nature boy Kuaui takes the cake. Man what was with the roosters? I kept thinking if I hit one I’d roadkill KFC it.

Missed the Jurassic Park valley but I think we saw parts of it from the boat tour around the island

Pretty much anywhere the wife & I were not more than 5-10 minutes from the beach & overall the experience was incredible. Boat tour was crazy, the wife got seasick despite the crackers they give you to prevent it. Saw bottlenose dolphins doing corkscrew flips a few metres from our boat, and the sunset(s) were priceless

The driving is cool, except when you get a rental don’t be conned like we did into getting a Dodge Charger (WTF?) when the speed limit is like 40 MPH. Ironic we ended up with a Jeep in the city. Should have been reversed oh well.

Have fun man; I know we did & our 10/15 year anniversary plan is to go back with our kids

Thanks for all the responses.

This is a video made by a group called “save kauai”. Do you feel it is an exaggeration?

Yes, I feel it is an exaggeration. But no, its not incorrect. Kauai is a beautiful place to live. And people (with money) want to live there. Therefore, homes will be built for them, because they can afford it.

But, its a slow process out there. And along with those homes, other things are built. Like more open roads. There’s a $40million highway project going on right to widen one of the main intersections and highways. But yes, there is traffic out there. But guess what: there’s traffic everywhere. Usually around the time called “rush hour” when people are getting off of work and heading home.

And as far as the “fecal therapy”:

Its a bit of an old report, but I just searched for “poipu beach fecal” on google, and apparently two of the most popular beaches on Kauai (Poipu and Salt Pond) both got 5-star ratings for water quality back in 2008.

If there are any (other) specific points you want me to address, let me know.
