Going Off TRT After Being On for 2 Years

Hello all-

New to the forums here but I have been following t-nation for years (website and various forum posts etc)

A little background:

I am 29, turning 30 in 3 weeks. I have been on TRT since June 2016 - I have had issues with Thyroid and delayed onset of puberty that has caused issues with test and other hormones throughout my adulthood.

Had multiple sets of labwork run before finally deciding to jump on TRT - my test was on the lower end of normal (ranging between 200-330 consistently) my Free T was bottomed out every time I had lab work done. My LH/FSH/TSH/T3/T4 were all normal.

Reason for starting TRT: Terrible recovery working out, ED, Anxiety was thru the roof. (All corrected on TRT)

I originally was on 200mg of Test Cyp weekly and 500iu of HCG twice a week.
I eventually cut out HCG for cost and constantly traveling (unable to keep it refrigerated)

I have since switched over to test cream 200mgs daily.

Career and life in general has influenced my decision to return to natural

I am in a career field that is dynamic and requires me to be in peak physical condition and travel often so I am looking to try to get back to natural and while maintaining my current level of fitness.

I would like to be able to have kids

I am just tired of the constant use of TRT.

Questions I have about coming off and going back to natural:
Will going off test and onto a PCT directly affect some PT tests that I have coming up (one week from posting this)? < OR should I stay on for the next week and attempt it with it?

Will I be able to maintain my level of Cardiovascular endurance and body-weight exercises, IE pull ups, push ups, sit ups? (not concerned about resistance based exercises yet)

Could someone offer opinion of this PCT?:

HCG: 1000iu every 4 days
Clomid: 100/100/100/50/50
Tamox: 20/20/20/20

Daily Supplements:
1 Scoop AI Sports Cycle Support
4g Fish Oil
500mg TUDCA
1 scoop D-Aspartic Acid preworkout

Thank you to anyone offering advice/help in advance!

No way will you be able to maintain cardiovascular endurance stopping TRT, clomid is a nightmare for most men and are force into stopping it. You should just add FSH and HCG to your TRT protocol when you are ready for kids.

If you insist on clomid don’t start out on 50mg everyday, more modern protocols are much smaller doses 12.5-25mg EOD or even every couple of days. You will crash weeks after you stop TRT, so you will likely not be able to maintain my level of cardiovascular endurance and body-weight exercises.

Successful restarts are very rare, I don’t remember a single successful case and I’ve been here a while. Your odds are not good. Those who have delayed onset of puberty typically have hormonal problems throughout life do to a dysfunctional HPTA.

Thyroid labs being normal doesn’t really mean anything, most doctors have no idea what normal looks like, you can have a dysfunctional thyroid with your numbers in range. Please provide thyroid labs, typically TSH, Free T3, Free T4, Reverse T3 and antibodies.

I appreciate the feedback and responses to my questions.

I’m still tossing it up. I can say I’ve noticed a difference in cardio output and muscular endurance since going from cyp to cream and I’ve been lowering the amount of cream used.

I’ve actually seen my mile time increase drastically since this. Which is what has me worried about qualifying for my work PT and being put on or taken off certain assignments.

Wait. So you want all of those things to come back? If you’re a masochist that’s ok, I don’t judge. But if you solved a lot of problems that impacted your quality of life wouldn’t you want to stick with that solution rather than going back to the way things were?

Ummm…I don’t see how going back to “Terrible recovery working out, ED, Anxiety was thru the roof” is going to be “peak physical shape”. This will ALL come back. You will be as you were before.

Have you had your T tested since going onto the cream? It sounds like it plummeted.
