Been lurking for awhile and enjoy the banter and encouragement on this board. Time to get off my butt and get a log going. I have been out of the strength game for about 6 years due to injury and the ensuing depression and laziness that followed.
Me:
47yrs
6’ x 290# (fat and weak at the present)
Since I haven’t trained in quite some time, I’ll be working on dropping some body fat and waking up the muscles, tendons, etc. Looking forward to getting to know you all and contributing when I can.
Thanks for the welcome Cav. Well, I played some football through college, did some shot putting, dabbled in powerlifting, got serious with oly lifting for a time, and a bit of cross dressing in a plaid skirt (highland games). You know, the normal stuff.
Thanks for the welcome Matty.
Pete, I am indeed in the tundra. Especially today when we got a cruel reminder of where we live. Today was only the second day this winter that I’ve worn a coat to work.
OK, enough of the pleasantries:
Day 1 - BW 286
Trap Bar Deadlift - 140x5/230x5x3
Front Squat - 135x5/155x5x2/155x8
Overhead Press - 95x8/115x6x2
Pullups - 10/8 (with two bands)
This should not have been a cardio workout with such low volume but I guess that’s where I am right now.

Tomorrow - Cardio (intentional this time) and abs[/quote]
Is indeed brutal out there. I am working downtown Minneapolis right now, actually used the skyways at lunch which I rarely do. Just not used to it with the mild year.
JC: I’m trying them for the first time and finding that they do a real number on the quads. Also, I’m a Jersey boy as well. Born in Ocean City.
On to today’s report:
Trap Bar Deadlift - 230x5/280x3,3,5
Front Squat - 135x5/185x3,3,5
Overhead Press - 115x8/135x3/155x3x2
Pullups - 10x2 (with two bands)
I confess that I skipped cardio on Saturday and Sunday since I could not walk. I forgot the feeling of terror when trying to go down the stairs with “cheese legs”
I will endeavor to hit the hamster wheel tomorrow.
