Was just discussing with a friend at the gym how lying leg curls with a DB between the legs (especially lying upright on a decline bench so youāre more perpendicular to the ground at the peak contraction) are one of the best hamstring exercises. You donāt need a lot of weight at ALL and they burn like crazy. Safe, effective. Canāt beat it.
That being said, even I donāt want to do 100 reps with a 5KG DB. Ow.
Yeah 5kg is so light itās not funny but fuck it burned!
In boot camp, we were given empty mesh laundry bags weighing maybe half a pound and made to hold them out in front of us for like 15 minutes, getting smacked in the arm every time we dropped our arms. When it was over the drill instructor was like āthat was a laundry bag, pussies. Imagine what Iām gonna do to you with some real equipment.ā He was true to his word. Light weights to legitimate failure still scare me more than any other type of set.

I do however treat every set like itās a ton to help with the mindset of stopping in and getting out of the hole. Last week on lower fluff Day I absolutely fried my legs with only 80kg on the SSB.

Haha, I like winter too, I quite like summer too though. Ours was crazy this year, only 6 weeks ago we were still having days of 37*C.
