When I was in the military and would come back on leave, 3 things always told me I was home during the summer. Cicadas singing, June bugs bouncing off everything, and lightning bugs flashing everywhere at night. (Course the bait shops selling live bait, ice cold beer, fireworks, and ammo were a good indicator, too). Yesterday walking my route the June bugs wer bouncing off me and the Cicadas were damn near deafening. Last night headed down to the river and the lightening bugs lit the way.
1500m slow swim. Stormed night before so there was a pretty good current on the return leg half. Shoulders were pumped at the end.
