Whew I had to go to page 5 to find my log…hadn’t had anything interesting to post in a while. Got back on the platform this weekend in the 83 kg class. Weight was 82.8 (182.75 lbs), went 9/9 and got a good idea of some numbers to train off of.
Finished at 457 in the squat, 341 on bench and 578 dead, 1378 total. Meet was raw, knee sleeves were allowed.
I try to keep up with reading everyones logs and still see lots of familiar faces on here. Thanks for the shout out ksnap.
How the heck did you lose 20 lbs from a nuthin’ but muscle 200 lbs?! You must be all skin and bones! From the pictures she posts, Up looks like a pretty good cook…
Thanks Joe
Oh snap…shhhh lol…ill get to vids soon I hope
I was lean PG, maybe leanest ever without getting too thin… had a woman to trains figure do my nutrition, kept my muscle and leaned out into single digits

You failed to mention that was first place for your age group.
Looking forward to the vids.[/quote]
…and the deadlift would have been the second highest in the masters 181 class over the past year as it was it is in the top ten in the 198. Can’t figure out why we can’t at least get all of the federations to agree on the weight classes.
Thanks Dave and thanks for the info…very cool.
Hey Kev, thanks. Yea 9/9 does better for a total than the 3/9 I have tried on occasion.
Also this meet was a milestone in that it was my 31st time on a national or international platform and I still remember the first one like it was saturday.
G1, that is textbook perfect form, no hyperbole. Special snowflake…yada yada, etc. etc., but every single person should try to have their squat look like your squat! Seriously.
Question: I never noticed until Jim Steel mentioned it specifically as something he needed to remind himself when squatting (love the guy, but his squat is much uglier than yours LOL!), which is to shrug up right before sitting down. Seems like you do the same (unless I’m mistaken) -what’s the reason for that if I may ask?
Well thanks lol.
Couple things I try to do and seem to work for me…imo filling the chest up with air is more beneficial to me than trying to fill the stomach with air so I think fill chest and brace abs tight against the belt. Also locking in the upper back/shoulders/traps keeps me more upright and out of the good morning position especially coming out of the hole. So between the chest fill and locking in the back area I get that shrug type thing so to speak. Hope that helps.

Totally makes sense and extremely helpful. Thanks G1!
Well, now. Aren’t those lifts gorgeous! Looking fine in the DL suit too. And that’s Mr. Sindelar in the side chair. He’ll be reffing the Nebraska meet I will be doing. Thanks so much for sharing.
