Glutamine for Immunity?

Question about the glutamine article… I understand the gist that it may not have substantial effect on protein synthesis given the conflicting studies presented. However, could it not be useful for the alleged immunity purposes mentioned in the very least (if not for increased protein synthesis? Could athletes training twice a day for comps possibly benefit to maintain optimal immune status and thereby reduce stress levels (induced by illness) and by extension balance cortisol levels to maintain and achieve optimal results? My coach has me on glutamine and I want to ensure that I’m getting my money’s worth!

If you’re getting adequate protein your glutamine needs should be met. Solid quality sleep is much better for immune function.
