Glutamine and Creatine?

Hey there,
I just have a quicky, little question about Glutamine and Creatine supplements.

Is there any problem taking Glutamine supplements with Creatine (at the same time)? I’m asking it because someone told me “they depend on many of the same substrate carriers”, and therefore they will get absorbed poorly together, but he didn’t gave me any scientific research, study or evidence to his claiming.

Do you guys think there’s a real problem with taking creatine and L-glutamine supplements at the same time, if we’re only talking about absorption and uptake?

Also, If you can give some scientific references to your opinions, I will v-e-r-y appreciate that. I did a quick search on the MEDLINE (www.pubmed.com) by myself, but didn’t find real scientific answers and studies on that specific issue.

Just for the record, I DO think Glutamine supplements are sucks and useless, but the answers to these questions are still important for me.

Thank you VERY much!

I keep seeing noobs perpetuate this myth, but I wonder where they get it from.

Not only is it not untrue, even if they used the same transporter, it would just delay absorption, not abolish it.

Cheers

well, lets see. Glutamine is an amino acid. All complete protein sources contain some glutamine. Creatine is found naturally in red meat. Red meat is a complete protein. Therefore when you eat red meat you are eating both glutamine and creatine.

Yes of course they interfere. So does water and food; vitamins and minerals; stupidity and forum posts…

Sorry, some sarcasm. Not to rag on you, but seriously, try thinking first - medline is a bit of an overkill for this one.
