Glenn Beck vs James Cameron Debate

http://www.movieline.com/2010/03/james-cameron-challenges-fcking-ahole-glenn-beck-to-debate.php

Looks like the shit talking between the two has come down to a public discussion about it. Cameron wants to challenge Beck’s right-wing poison to Beck’s accusation of being the Anti-Christ. Any predictions on a winner?

One guy makes movies and the other hosts a radio and tv show about politics. Who do you think will win?

If this were to occur who won would strictly be in the eye of the beholder. It’s no scret I like Beck’s overall message a lot, but he is a terrible interviewer and there is no way I’d make a call on his abilities as a debater. Being right isn’t a guarantee of effective debating skills. Being wrong doesn’t preclude somebody from being persuasive in their error either.

Case in point. I didn’t see it, but I’ve seen both debate and Alan Keyes debated Barack Obama during the Illinois senate race a while back. On substance I’m betting Keyes manhandled Obama, but to no effect to that audience.

After all this, I have absolutely NO respect for Cameron. I know Hollywood is very liberal, but he is beyond left and it makes me sick. I met Jon Voight once, unfortunately in a Federal Prison visiting room LOL, but had I known he was as Conservative as he was, I would have valued it more.

Voight says the turning point for him was after all of his activism against the Vietnam war with the major leftist groups for the killing we were doing over there and then witnessing it all go silent when we left and 2 million civilians were butchered by the peace loving communists.

He says it was then he realized that the left was driven by hatred for America, not love of their fellow man and started his reconsideration his whole political philosophy. An epiphany experienced by few of the Hollywood elite.

I think Glenn Beck is a complete sensationalist dumbfuck who probably doesn’t believe half the shit that comes out of his mouth. That being said, why would he waste his time with an equally asinine person like James Cameron? James Cameron makes movies and lives in his insular little world down in Hollywood with zero connection to reality. I am so sick of people in Hollywood who think they’d make good politicians. These people have little connection with the real world that 99.9% of us live in, yet they think they’d do a good job because they might be a little familiar with a makeup artist union or something. Glenn Beck debating this guy would only lend Cameron credibility, even if he does destroy him.

If these two got in the same room, the debate would turn into an ugly insult-fest from the word Go and they’d probably end up making a fool of themselves more than each other. Who would win? Whoever broadcasts the debate. Maybe Jerry Springer could be the moderator…

There are more like Voight in Hollywood, but they can’t speak up about their conservative leanings without being branded as outcasts in their community. There are so many in Hollywood who moan and cry about attacks on liberalism (with some legitimacy, and to be fair there are some in Hollywood who are liberal who make sense like Clooney, but they are far and few between) but they are just as guilty when it comes to their fellow actors who are conservative.

Then he’s the greatest actor who has ever lived because that man speaks with passion. Also calling him “dumb” is certainly of line.

How is the man dumb? He presents more facts in a 30minute period than most liberal commentators do in one weeks time. You’ll have to explain your comment to me. Unless of course you simply disagree with him, and if so what has he said that is factually incorrect that would cause you to call him “Dumb”?

You know, I really, really long for the days when over the top patriotism was the norm. See, back then you could put the British and French (or whomever) in a room and they’d cancel each other out. Now the only sort of patriotism that is allowed (and yes it is patriotism, but of an inverted sort) is anti-Americanism. You can go anywhere in the world and use that then expect a warm reception…

Two self-important, ego-centric loons with overly inflated senses of self-worth.

Nothing to see here.

Beck is not a loon, if you don’t agree with him then let us all know where he is wrong. The cheap name calling that you do says more about you than him.

more like: blind v. deaf

Just as I thought, the Beck haters are really only good at tossing out inflammatory comments and then running away.

Exactly, I never understood why that was never reported? Actually I did, but it does amaze me yet. People are stunned when I educate them about Pol Pot.

funny thing about Beck is that he will do some research, post facts that can be checked, post video that can be fact checked and hangs liberals on their own words. And then he’s dumb. What does that make the liberals that say and do the things he reports on? Or the blanket know nothing criticism?

Beck is a god damned mormon. I wish people would ignore mormons.

Yip. The reason we were in Vietnam was the “Domino Theory”, viz., that if Vietnam fell to the Communists, then so would Laos and Cambodia. Funny thing is that happened – the Domino Theory was right. Predictably, 3 million people were displaced in Indochina following their victory (including about half a million ethnic Chinese expelled from Vietnam in ethnic cleansing) and a couple million more died in purges and failed social engineering (famine, as usual accompanies state planning of agriculture). Astonishingly, I recently re-watched the movie the Killing Fields which blamed the US for Pol Pot’s excesses. Seemed we scared the poor guy so bad he couldn’t help himself and went on to kill 1 in 7 Cambodians. Poor thing…

And about all we heard from the Left at the time was how the boat people were just capitalist lackies who were left in the lurch by our withdrawal – so it’s still our fault. The few boat people I knew personally had harrowing tales to tell and witnessed public executions – some in front of the local grade school and attended by children.

Nope that is completely rationally thought out.

That is the original state of nature.
