Agreed, and this is a major problem IMO in America. Like ProX said, we blame steroids, video games, violent movies, and every other fucking thing other than those in the wrong. I’ve always based such epithets on action and not socio-economic status. Or maybe it’s just because I’m living in east Tennessee where there’s quite a few wealthy and middle class “white trash” hillbillies.

Regarding the original topic, it keeps getting better in a way. It looks like they’re going to be charged with kidnapping which can carry a maximum sentence of life in prison. I doubt that they’ll receive such a severe penalty, but if nothing else hopefully it’ll scare the stupid out of them.

No he real problem is trying to plan an economy which leads to good things you can see and a lot of bad things you do not see.

In the case of the FDA, erring on the side of caution is the bureaucratic default position, making it extremely expensive to develop drugs for people with rare conditions.

Boner pills will earn the money that it takes to have them tested so rigorously, but drugs for rare diseases never would.

So the good things you do see are the thousands of people each year not dying horrible deaths because the FDA saved them.

What you do not see are the tens of thousands of people that die each year because the FDA slows down research or makes it economically impossible.

Why should drug companies be a problem? Ultimately they are in the business of curing diseases or easing pain. It is a business , but there are worse ways to make money.
