There absolutely was a weighted dip video five or so months ago, but just with a measly five extra pounds:

I should do another video with a BIG plate.

Snap, you can be chinup queen. I’ll even get you a tiara.
I like goat cheese dips but those are nice too. My shoulders hurt watching them. Dips bother my shoulders a lot.

Is it just me or did you find it weird that the guy jumped on the front while you were dipping? It’s kind of like sitting next to someone on an empty bus. Maybe it wouldn’t bother anyone else but it bugs me just seeing it.
I would have seriously considered projectile vomitting or hacking up a nice involuntary-seeming ball the phlegm on the guy. Future problem solved.

Nice work in here, Kimba.

Wow Kimba you look great in that vid. So STRONG! Your arms are awesome!

Joe, courtesy is not common but I understand your expectation. Mine are just markedly lower.

Maschy, I’m glad to hear all is well. Thanks for the kind words.

Jack, I’m not a big phlegm out-putter. My skillz run deep, but they are narrowly tailored.

Deb! Great to see you back. Thanks for the encouragement.

Work sucks. That is all.

Aw kimba you are friggin adorable! In a totally badass way

I second Bobbi and Deb.

As for the guy doing leg raises when you were dipping, I remember in my gym class my friend was doing hanging leg raises on that dip/pull up station and I asked if I can use it to do some dips and he joked and said no, he won’t move. So I said that I’ll just do the dips with him trapped in with me.

If I was single then I would have definetely followed through with that heh heh

ANYWHO, Kim you’re a damn strong woman, regardless of whatever “measly” weight you only THINK that you’re doing.
Cuz to everyone else here, you’re badass.

OH MY GOD DIPS!! you’re awesome!

and i am so jealous, i can’t do a single dip, you badass!

Bobbi, thanks - I needed that.

Nikki, that is a wonderful idea…trapping a cute guy in the dip station. Sadly, my husband might not approve.

Brute, I can’t do an overhead squat! Isn’t it hysterical that each of us has something we can kill on, even if other things are less stellar?

Today’s training was mostly about squat rehab.

Squats (3 risers/step)
65# 1 x 10
75# 1 x 10
80# 1 x 10
85# 1 x 10 <–knees good, maybe a wiggle on the last rep)
75# 1 x 10

Still working form. Its still boring.

Incline Bench Press
Bar 1 x 10
55# 1 x 10
60# 1 x 7 <–failed on 8

I haven’t done these in a very long time. Substantially weaker on incline than regular. Is that normal? Not that there is anything about me even remotely normal…

Lat Pulldowns, chin up grip
70# 1 x 22

The weight was too easy.

Plank
1 x 2 min 30 sec.

This is getting somewhat stronger.

Now starts a deload week. Gym access will be spotty due to a weekend trip, but there are always bodyweight exercises!

Kimba, loved the dip vid! I don’t remember seeing that before… Hey, five pounds is five pounds, right?! You have to start somewhere!

IH had me start doing inclines to help my bench. My bench has gone up ever since, either in reps or in weight. Still aiming for the 100 pound mark though.

Inclines are harder. To me it’s like a combo bench/OHP. I can bench more than I can press. I usually only do them if I have someone to lift them off for me because they seem to set your shoulders up for trouble racking and unracking.

Good job on the squat rx. It will pay dividends down the road. Even people who seem to have their form dialed in will develop bad habits that need to be rectified.

Kimba, You did a good job in upper video. I like your spirit. Keep it up!

Greeney, I hope those incline presses will help my bench. Poor little sucker needs some help!

O, thanks for the encouragement on the squat rehab. It has been, and will be, a long haul. My particular body just isn’t built for squats somehow. Deadlifts FTW!

Natalie, thanks for stopping by. That is a hot, hot avi you’ve got goin’ on.

Kimba, your bench, while a few pounds higher than mine, is a lot closer to your body weight than mine is. There is no way your bench is “poor” or “little”.

where are you heading?
kimbakimba wrote:

Totally normal. Incline is harder than flat bench. Conversely, one can usually press more in decline bench than flat bench.

Way to stay the course with the squat rehab.

oh benching… incline is harder i find as well, and decline is freaking way easier for me at least like snapper says.

Awww, Greeney. What you say is true. Its easy, though, to get frustrated with lifts that only incrementally improve over time.

N., you had to ask so I’ll make you jealous: Saturday’s dinner will be here:

Thanks Snapper. I know you know the pain of rehabbing at pussy weights.

Brute, I’m awfully glad its not just me. Somehow I was expecting incline bench to be close to my regular bench. But no. My gym doesn’t have a decline bench set-up so I’ve never tried that.

jealous for sure!!! looks divine!

nice dips. i’ve really got to start doing those.

deja, I’ll have a glass of wine for you.

Well, so much for the bodyweight-only deload. The hotel we’re staying at gives passes for the local gym, and you KNOW that there is nothing I like more than checking out a new gym on a roadtrip.

Just my luck, you’re taken

Inclines are harder for me too, but I told someone that I found bench easier than inclines and he was like “You think so?”

I thought it was just me.

I’ve never met anyone who can incline press more than flat bench press. Anyone?
