You know what, guys?
Newt could actually take SC.
In two days of Debates, he played the crowd like a Master Magician.
Mufasa
He’s from GA. So he will take some delegates from Romney which is a good thing.
Oh, he could definitely take SC. With multiple polls showing him leading, even up by 6 points, the shocker would be if he didn’t. The only way he doesn’t is if Santorum made enough of an impression in the last debate to siphon back some of the not-Romney vote today and tomorrow. Romney is crashing back down nationally. So the question is, does the not-Romney vote consolidate now, or not?
Brokered convention a possibility?
Sloth wrote:<<< Brokered convention a possibility?
That would work to further ensure Obama’s already likely reelection. Romney is McCain 2.0 (pretty much) and Newt would make Obama look like the family values candidate if example means anything. I will give Obama that much. (and very VERY little more) By all accounts he is a faithful husband and father. If he just wasn’t a God hating, America hating commie I might actually be able to vote for him. (Common grace before anybody asks. Look it up)
Ok, looking at PPP polling for this night, Gingrich has a 14 point lead…9 point average over the last 3 days. Wow.
I just saw Obama singing some old soul song on TV with a big grin on his face. He looked slim and trim, like he just stepped out of central casting to play the role of President for a high budget film. And he’s actually got a pretty good voice. I imagined him standing there 6’ 1" all calm cool and collected next to a morbidly obese, red faced Newt Gingrich poking at the air and I got just a tad nauseous.

Obama’s ‘perfect pants crease’ will destroy any sartorial cred Newt has left.
That’s great!!! Why did this clod have to president? He’d probably be a blast if he wasn’t in a position to make any kind of meaningful judgements about anything important. Seriously LOL!!!
It was a Tribute to Al Green at the Apollo.
What would you rather have him do; pass out Food Stamps?

Gonna smooth his way right back in for another four. Too bad Arsenio wasn’t still on, he could just sing and be declared the winner by a landslide right on the spot.

No, he’s already done that more than any other President in the history of our country. So, his singing is far preferable.
(Oh, Boy…or should I say “Oh, Newt…”)
ANY President…even if it was Saint Reagan…would have seen the issuance of more Food Stamps than any of his predecessors, when faced with the worst economy since the Depression.

You’re right, he shouldn’t run against Obama, and the actual state of the economy under Obama. Even when the Obama machine begins the driving granny off the cliff narrative, Republicans should be looking to make excuses on his behalf. GoP candidate: “Don’t blame Obama, right Obama? You might as well vote for him. I mean, we’ve got nothing to say.” Obama: “That’s right GoP candidate. Now, explain to us why you want orphans and grandmothers to eat dog food out of the can.”
Unemployment wasn’t supposed to go over 8%, Mufasa. Remember that? Remember when Bush’s spending over 8 years was ‘unpatriotic.’ Yet, Obama has nearly matched that in 3 years.
How about Keystone?
Even when his jobs council basically ended up saying ‘Drill, baby, Drill!’
How about Solyndra, and what might be 11 other failed green energy ‘investments?’

Actually historically this mess was begun by Franklin Rosevelt. But moved far further down the road by Lyndon Baines Johnson with his “War On Poverty”. Since then if you don’t take money away from those who earn it and give it freely to those who do not deserve it you are an awful person. And this nonsense has worked really well in getting democrats elected. And in fact causing many republicans to act like democrats.
I want those who do not work to at least show up at a government building (God knows there’s enough of them) and sweep the hall way or shovel the walk etc.
It makes me sick to think that we are encouraging people not to work for up to 99 weeks! They call it unemployment and I call it yet another form of welfare. Which we ABSOLUTELY KNOW does NOT encourage people to find a job.

Mufasa
I meant it when I said it was great. I can find posts of mine way back during the campaign where I said I’d probably like the guy personally. He seems likable. Except Bonzo the performing chimp would be a more competent president.

I’m missing the point you’re trying to make, Sloth.
Bad economies = more people needing assistance.
