There is probably some truth in this for people who make such statements. Not necessarily that they are losers that good women won’t go for, but that they seek out the wrong women.

Really nothing more to this than picking the wrong girl, and thinking she was worth the investment.

Find a girl that will do things for you and won’t spite you; she might have issues, but if she’s working on them and isn’t dependent on you for it. Nothing wrong with helping her or making sacrifices, but not at the expense of self respect. Get your priorities in line first.

The question you have to ask yourself is “what am I getting out of this relationship?” It may be selfish/cynical, but if you aren’t getting as much benefit as you could be alone/with another woman, then it’s not worth it. Look at your life. You had it together, then it went to shit. You don’t want to be with somebody who has such a negative effect on your life. There seems to be nothing positive about her other than the fact that she’s hot. Big deal. Allowing someone else to bring you down, instead of realizing they’re toxic and leaving them, is not a quality of a person with high self esteem, let alone a ‘quality girl.’ So really, many would argue that you’re still a little off with what constitutes a ‘quality girl.’
