Thanks, I don’t hardly ever do them, Adam wanted a heavy triple. I wasn’t sure how much that was going to be.

I love me some rack pulls. What height do you do them from?
I was pulling a couple inches below the knees. What I really liked was, I didn’t feel them the next day.
Usually heavy deads kick my butt and it takes me a week or so to recover. Thou this wasn’t a ton of weight,
I’m taking it as a sign of progress, that they didn’t beat me up at all.
Nice work.
Rack pulls are great way to train the deadlift w/o tearing yourself to bits.
Solid work in here.
Thanks Guys!
Box squats tonight, 275x2x6 one of those workouts I feel the weight was light.
Band cross walks, 3x10
Arched good mornings, 135x8x3
Some ab work
GHR 5x10
Daughter is due back from deployment Sat. I’m flying to Mayport Fla. and get to board the carrier Sun., and sail with it to Norfolk. I’m like a kid waiting for Christmas morning. The main reason I didnt push it tonight, got to be in one piece next week.
Early work out today.
Deadlifts, worked up to 355, 2 singles, then a set till failure, 355x11
chin ups, bwx10x3
Bent over rows 225x10x3
DB rows 110x12x3
RDL 225x10x3
Simple workout on the Carrier Mon.
275x3x4 bench
225x8x3 cgbp
bwx15x4 dips
50x8x3 hammer curls
Drove back from Norfolk wends, then to the gym.
Squats against light bands, double choked.
135x6, 185x6, 225x3, 275x2, 315x2, figured bands add about 100lbs at top.
300x3x3 with no bands
band side steps 10x3
arched GM 135x10x3
GHR 3x8 with a light band
Very cool about the carrier. Took my son to every airshow we could get to. He enlisted and just finished a 6 year stint
Thank your daughter for me.
Nice looking workouts.
Thanks OP, after 9 months on deployment, everyone was pretty tired of being on the boat. I thought all of it was amazing. All of the stuff. From up on the flight deck, to the guys standing watch. It gets monotonous, but as a whole, it’s damn impressive.
It took a day for us to find the weight room. You had to crawl through 2 scuttles, into a small room, in the bow. Daughter called the ship, the worlds most expensive stair master.
The govt. may waste alot of money…but it wasn’t on the gym stuff.
Thats dedication!
I have had a sore shoulder for months. It finally got so bad, I decided to shut it down for a week or so.
I don’t want to let up, because I’m afraid of losing what I’ve gained. I’m losing what I’ve gained, because I don’t let up.
So squat day comes around, and during warm ups…had 275 on the bar…my left hip cathes and pops on the way up. It’s sore as hell, and I aint got time for this crap.
Dug a hole, crawled in, and pulled the dirt in over me.
Got a plan, going to try and fix me, and get back at it.
Any of you guys that have experience with briefs, or single ply gear…is this a possible way to protect the hips? Do you think I could use it to rehab with?
That sucks about the injuries. I’d pop in to Pete’s log and ask him about the gear. I seem to recall he likes briefs for hips, but he’s the guy to ask.
Thanks Jack, that’s a good idea…Pete might be able to help.
Mon. night, found a bottle of blue horse linement at the gym. Dosed the shoulder down with that, did a bunch of band work to get the shoulders warm. About a 100 reps of just the bar, per Pete’s advice. And worked up slow in weight.
Everything to a 2-board. 90x10x2, 135x10x2, 185x8, 225x8, 245x6, 275x3, 295x2. Flat bench
DB press paused, 80x10x3
pressdowns 50x10x5, with the rope
face pulls 12x3
Lots of ice when I got home. A little sore, but not too bad.
Keep me posted on how the shoulder and hip are doing. I wouldn’t be shy with the ice, do it as often as possible. Any maybe stuff like pullaparts and external rotations every day to keep blood getting into that shoulder.
Lifting some great numbers and the intensity looks good. Your dedication to your friend is awesome. You have good goals for your next meet but the way you’re progressing I think you’ll exceed your previous projections fro squat, bench, and dead.
I bet some loose briefs would help.
