Getting Gyno Surgery Covered Under Insurance

Not sure if this is the right section, but regardless, has anyone had any luck getting gyno surgery covered by your insurance? I have medical coverage but they do not cover “cosmetic surgery” which I imagine this would fall under, I am trying to get an appointment with my dr to bring up the fact it causes me actual physical pain and is detrimental to my “mental health” to see if there’s a way to get it covered. Looks like it will cost me around $9,000 all said and done.
Just wondering if anyone else has been able to get their surgery covered.

This is a question for your insurance company. Mine did not cover it

I’m going to call my insurance tmo and try to get an answer. Spent 2 hrs on hold last time I tried to call them. Just curious if anyone had success without and issues.

This is how mine was covered. Had to do a scan to show actual tissue growth causing the “pain” and all was covered.

Thanks, that’s what I was hoping for. I’m calling my insurance tmo to see what they say. It is causing me a lot of pain when i bump into things or slightly graize it. Kills my motivation to work out now to since I always see it sticking out from my shirt.

I had my doctor send me to a specialist for a consult. Once this happened the spec did his testing and then recommended surgury and called my insurance to get pre approval. IMO i wouldn’t call insurance myself as they are robots. You may not know how to speak the language they need to code it correctly for approval. They may just hear breast surgery and lump it into cosmetic.
Just my 2c.
