Yeah Bulgarian Split Squats are humbling, especially for balance. Great unilateral exercise, I like doing them. The first time I did them, I did one set of five for each leg and pretty much fell over every time. Someone walking by probably thought I was a New Year’s resolution trying to get into shape.

Staying in HOU for Thanksgiving break, or heading out of town?

Stayin’ here bro. You going back to OK or staying in CO?

Headin to the Okie Dokie. Actually got tix to the Thunder/Rockets game Sunday night, so I’ll let you know how your boys look. Also going to the Thunder/Bucks game Friday night, get to see Jennings. See what he can do after dropping double nickel last week.[/quote]

That Bucks/Thunder game should be good. I imagine Westbrook will be on Jennings. I’m interested to see how he does against Westbrook’s length and athleticism. Westbrook has shut down ability. With that, Jennings has a serious handle, jumper and plays the pick and roll like a 10 year vet, and he might be the fastest guy in the league right now, so that should be a great matchup. Happy Holidays bro.

Goin’ back to a ws4sb style setup for a month or two, then probably back to Cresseys MS.

Good workout. want to get 255 for 3 on my own next week. The 95’s were heavy as shit. Would also like to get those for 6’s across the board next week. Basketball manana for the first time in two weeks. My knee is still kinda swollen but apparently that’s just the way it’s gonna be so I’ll work with it. Ya’ll be good.

Yeah it should be a good matchup. The Thunder may put Sefolosha on it for D, but we’ll see.

Happy Holidays to you and your family as well man.

Cracked my wrist pretty good fuckin’ around with some buddies a few days back so haven’t done shit 'til yesterday. Some good came of it though as it’s forced me to reevaluate my form on everything. Squatted yesterday and [with a heavily taped wrist] brought my hands out to pinky on the ring and thumbless. Didn’t go too heavy [275lbs] but felt like I was squatting with flawless form:Chest up, abs tight, sitting back and deep. It was definitely a bit awkward as I’ve never gone out that far, but can already tell it’s gonna work in my favor. Same with bench. I normally bench with crease of thumb on where knurling meets smooth, elbows flared, wrists cocked, terrible technical form, haha. Tonight I was a full thumbs length from smooth and focused on really tucking the elbows while keeping the wrists locked [heavily taped again so kinda had to]. Did the first set at 235 but flared on the last rep so dropped to 225 and did 4 more sets of 3. Will slowly work my way up as long as my form stays tight. Did 3 sets of close grip in the same fashion after for sets of 8. Used 185 and really focused on staying crisp. Everything felt really good, but definitely not what I’m used to.

Good stuff man. Sorry about the wrist, hope it gets better soon. How is WS going so far?

Man, bummer about UH losing to ECU. Repeat of last year with Air Force in the Armed Forces Bowl though. Should be a good game. Sumlin def has that team going in the right direction.

I’ll be back in OK for the break, thinking of heading out to El Pasa-nasty to watch my Sooners (hopefully) win a bowl game.

Take it easy homie.

Thanks man. It’s getting better by the day so I’ll be straight. I think UofH is on the verge of doing big things. The problem is as far as recruits go there’s not a lot to draw 'em here. There’s not a lot of on campus housing and a good portion of the student body is older [35+] people going back to school for various reasons, and Houston as a city is so spread out that it’s hard to use the city as a selling point. Compare that to a city like Austin which has an awesome campus and the student life is BUMPING with sexy little broads and we know where the big time recruits are going, haha.

Happy Holidays homey.

C1]Cable laterals-20x4x10,10,10,8

C2]inc db curls-30’sx10,10,8

40 cg push-up bar push-ups

Brought my grip back in to midline of thumb to where knurling meets smooth. Really concentraing on staying tight, keeping my wrists locked and tucking my elbows. Feel like this will eventually lead to greater poundages, and it makes my focus on every rep instead of going through the motions. Have my routine mapped out for the next 8 weeks and goals lined up for that time frame. Want to bench 255x3 [with improved form], squat 335x3 [same deal] add 2" to my vert, hangclean 235 and do 5 nuetral grip pull-ups with 85lbs attached. Those are my goals for the next 8 weeks and I’m committing to sticking to them right here. Tonight’s squats, and I think I’m gonna get to play with a prowler for the first time so that’ll be cool. Ya’ll be good.

Hangcleans-135x5,185x5x3

Squats-135x5,185x5,225x5,275x3,285x3,3,2

Pullthroughs-3x10,10,6

Prowler pushes and pulls-2 each way x40 yards

Hangcleans were super easy but didn’t want to put too much strain on my wrist. Started from the floor with a high pull and then did the cleans. Feel like I can get at least 225 right now and possibly 235. As soon as the wrist is good we’ll see. The squats were smooth and felt good. Should’ve pushed on that last set for the 3rd rep but get scared when I start thinking about my knee. Didn’t have access to anyother equipment so didn’t do any single leg stuff. Gonna try and sucker one of the dogs into a jog manana, so we’ll see how that goes. Ya’ll be good.

Keep it up Great White Hope. You’ll dunk one day…One day…

You better check the first page pancakes! I catch dunks like waffles catch syrup with their mini syrup traps!

Got a pair of 30lb kettlebells so went looking for workouts to do on 2 of my off days and settled on -

I did the first workout last night and will do the second on Saturdays. I also wrapped it up with 50 pushups. I was breathing pretty hard after these. Turkish get-ups are no joke, and the renegade rows are badass. More upper fun tonight. Ya’ll be good.

Haha. Actually man I lifted with a dude from here on T-Nation. He has a power rack, about 600lbs of plates and a prowler in his garage. That’s the first time I’ve jacked with a prowler. It was awesome. We had to cut it short though 'cause his neighbor was bitching about the scratching noise coming from the prowlers sleds on the concrete. My boy’s a welder so I’m trying to sucker him into making one so I can spare the dough, haha.

Weighted nuetral chins-bwx8,+30lbsx5,+50x5,+60x2x5

B1]Alternating db inc-60’sx6,80’sx4x6

B2]Head supported rows-70’sx3x10

Rope pulldowns-110x3x12 [probably not actually 110lbs]

Good workout. The alternating db incs were tough. I was holding one arm at lockout while going through a rep with the opposite arm then vice versa. Maybe coulda’ gone a bit heavier but wanted to really focus on the move, not the weight. Next week gonna do sets of 7. The program I’m doing is inspired by designer athletes, and even though I’m not even a full week through I’m really liking it. Gonna do some jumps and some kind of dead manana. Ya’ll be good.

I wanted to make a white man can’t jump joke, but apparently you can joke and you have more hair than Woody Harrelson.

I see Wesley Snipes has entered the fray.

Wol just remember, you can put a cat in the oven, but that don’t make it a biscuit.

Last night-

Db lunges-50’sx3x8

Ghetto ghr’s-3x8

calves-3x8 with 3 sec pause both ways

Good workout. The sgd’s were easy but my grip was giving out. Probably coulda’ handled at least 315, so think I’m gonna get some straps. This was the first time I’ve actually lifted 4 times in a week in awhile. Been bullshittin’ too much, but about to get serious. It’s raining out here but if it clears up gonna try and play some ball or go for a jog on top of the kettlebell stuff. Ya’ll be good.

Did the second workout of the article I pasted up there. Since I only have 30lb kb’s think I’m gonna add reps on certain moves in the circuit or decrease rest periods. I also wrap up each kb workout with a set of 50 pushups. The lower back pumps I’m getting from these is bananas. I’m waking up at 175lbs right now and walking around at 178 or so and would like to get up to waking up at 178 by the end of this 8 week block and 185lbs by the summer. Start the winter mini term manana where I’m going to school for 4 hours a day five days a week for one class for three weeks, so tady is grub and chill and lights out by midnight. Ya’ll be good.

Been crazy busy so haven’t checked in but still liftin’.

Don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned this but I touch my chest on all db presses. I never understood why people use partials on db’s. Coulda eeked out another rep or two on the squats tonight but pussed out.
