hopefully within a month, if it looks like its going to be any longer I think i will shell out some change to join a gym…too bad the ones close to my house are horrible to say the least. The one I used to goto(closest to house) before setting up home gym had rules like " no body builders" and “no grunting” and their space dedicated to cardio equipment was greater than the weights. How are them dunks coming along? you measure your vert recently?

That sucks man. You doing any bodyweight stuff? I honestly haven’t touched a ball in about 3 weeks. I keep bullshitting, but am gonna play Wednesday come hell or highwater. Gonna try and get in 3 days of ball a week and gradually work my way into more and more jumping. All that means I seriously doubt I’ve added any tricks to the arsenal, haha.

I don’t know man, Tayshaun Prince’s shot is pretty ugly. But, someone alot wiser than myself once said you shouldn’t fix what isn’t broke. Melo reminds me so much of Glenn Robinson, like he is what the Big Dog shoulda been. I’d like the Rockets to ship McGrady man. Play him for a couple of weeks, get his value back up and ship his ass. You see my boy Jennings? I know it’s early but that kid’s the truth. I told you in the last thread that I thought when it’s all said and done he’ll be the best player from this draft. I know that might sound insane but I’m sticking by it.[/quote]

Yeah, Tay’s shot is pretty bad, but it has SOME form to it. Trix shoots the ball like the ball is on fire and is trying not to burn his fingers. AAHHH Glenn Robinson. He was legit. Too bad he didn’t play to his potential like he did at Purdue. Yeah, I vividly remember you pubbing Jennings when we talked about the draft. As I said before, I’ll take your word for it. He’s shaping up to be legit. Too bad my boy B-Griff cracked his kneecap. Hope he comes back stronger and better than before.

Random thought: have you thought about going to law school? You hold your own on debates on the site very well, may be something to look for in a career. Marquette offers a sport law program. Just a thought.

Do some push ups here and there other than that, I work asset protection at wal-mart so my day consists of walking around all day. A few times a week ill go stand in sporting goods dept and do some curls with their db’s. I feel so out of shape right now its sad. I had to sprint from one side of the store to the other and tackled the shit out of a shoplifter. Next day my quads were sore from the sprinting. Im off today, gonna try to play some ball if weather cooperates… just gotta find a court without drug dealers trying to sell me shit.

Ha, that’s exactly how Marion shoots the ball. I had a game on tape from Robinsons rookie year against the Rockets where he had like 6 dunks and 39 points. He coulda been an all-timer. He’s also the reason the league instituted a rookie salary cap. They said Griff’s gonna be out 6 weeks right? That doesn’t sound like much rest for breaking a kneecap.

Man, quite a few of my friends have told me to pursue law school, but I think it’s 'cause I like arguing, haha.

Ha, that’s awsome! Man, once you get back to it it’ll come back really quickly, and the long layoff might be what you needed to get those old goals. Where in Carolina are you? Had a couple of buddies stationed out in Fayetville.

Im staying right outside raleigh for now.

JD, you better start taking advantage of those Carolina ballplayers man. There’s alot of talent out there.

Bench-95x10,135x8,185x6,225x5,255x9x1

D-handle cr’s-100x10,210x3x8

Db inc-90’sx7

band laterals

Don’t know what the deal was but had ZERO energy tonight. Had to lift my ass of the bench to get those last few sets at 255. Used the same fat bar so I guess it was really 265lbs. Got 7 on the incline and knew it was time to call it. Slept like shit last night and never felt awake today. No worries. Gonna drop to 3x1 next Tuesday and max the following week.
Think I’m gonna max on the Box squat and clean one day and the bench and weighted chin for 3 on the other and take the rest of the week off. Gonna eat like a horse for the rest of the week. Have to study for a personal trainer exam and read/write a paper for English, but gonna try and squeeze in some ball manana. Ya’ll be easy.

Yeah 6 weeks, but I hope they don’t rush him back. Don’t want to get him on the court just for him to re-injure his knee again. He’s young and got a lot of time.

Go for it man. If you like to argue, might as well make a career out of it. WhiteFlash, Attorney At Law. Sounds good to me.

I like Griffin’s game, though I’m not as enamored with him as some. Eventually he should be a high teens scorer and an 8-10 rpg’er. It’s gonna be hard for him to get shots on this Clipper team for now though.

Shit, with a name like that I should get my own sitcom!

Yeah he’ll get his fair share of burn, but probably not many shots at least for this year. He’ll blossom into a solid player though.

I’ll watch the show as long as it doesn’t suck haha.

I agree. The guy has game, I’m just not ready to call him Karl Malone 2.0 like I keep reading. I probably understated him earlier though, as I think down the road he could definitely be a 20/10 guy. He’s pretty damn explosive for a big guy.

Shit, I need some Jewish writers…

Alright, I’ve decided that with my knee’s being the way they are I need to focus less on the weightroom and more on sprint/mobility work for the lower body for awhile, so here’s set-up for the next month-

Mon-Bench-1]6x3 2]4x3 3]8x3 4]2x3

B1]High db inc-1]3x6 2]2x6 3]4x6 4]2x6

B2]Pendlay rows-1]4x6 2]3x6 3]4x6 4]3x6

Shoulder prehab circuits + curls

Tuesday- agility stuff/basketball

Wed-Cleans from floor-1]6x3 2]4x3 3]8x3 4]2x3

Back squat-1]3x6 2]3x6 3]4x6 4]2x6

C1-Pistols-1]3xmax 2]2xmax 3]4xmax 4]2xmax

C2-GHR’s-1]3xmax 2]2xmax 3]4xmax 4]2xmax

Thursday- A1]Push press-3x6 2]3x6 3]4x6 4]nada

A2]Weighted chins-3x6 2]3x6 3]4x6 4]2x6

B1]Nuetral grip rows-3x10 2]2x10 3]4x10 4]2x10

B2]Nuetral grip weighted push-ups-3x10 2]2x10 3]4x10 4]2x10

Friday- basketball/rest

Sat- Sprint work/plyos

I’m starting this on Monday and feel like this will allow me to get stronger/bigger and focus on leg health and regaining my athleticism. If I can’t find anyone to put weights on my back for the push-ups I’ll do db bench. I’m taking the rest of this week off 'cause I feel run down. Taking a personal trainer exam early tomorrow morning so gonna be studying for the rest of the evening.

This is the only guy Jewish guy you’ll need.

when you had a 40+ in vert what was your bw and squat #s?

would you say that a low BW and high squat is an easy way to a big vertical or are there other factors like technique and speed involved (tho i would imagine with a big squat, your legs would be fast)

My squat was high 300’s and I weighed a bit less than 170lbs.

I wish I could give you an answer Blood, but I just don’t know. There are quite a few powerlifters with monster squats proportional to their bw who can’t jump for shit, and there’s dude’s who can’t squat for shit who jump out of the building. I think getting strong[er] and jumping pretty frequently is a good way to get better hops.

Ha, that guy’s awesome. I never really got the appeal of Seinfeld, but Curb is pretty damn funny.

Bench [just inside shoulder width but not cg, if that makes any sense]-95x10,135x8,185x6,235x5x3

B1]Pendlays-135x8,185x4x6

B2]High inc db-90’sx3x6

C1]Cambered bar preachers-25 a sidex3x8,8,6

C2]2-way ab circuit

Shoulder circuit-band raises x band pulls to neck x scap wall slides-2x20’s

Good workout. Used a different bench than normal tonight. It was thinner and it felt a little less stable. Never really thought something that small would make a noticeable difference. The weight was good. Wanted to start a little “light” so I can add 5lbs each workout for a bit. I’m gonna subtract a set from the main move from the template I laid out, so next week I’ll do 3x3, the week after 7x3, etc… Db incs were fucking heavy. Not sure I did the pendlays right, but I’m gonna stick with 'em 'til they feel like it. Basketball manana. This’ll be the first time I’ve touched a ball in about 3 weeks +/-, so I doubt I’ll be doing any crazy dunks. But, I’ll bring my phone just in case. Also been trying to get in 5 meals a day instead of eating whenever I feel like it. I have 3 solids and 2 homemade shakes [cup milk, 1/2 cup oats, banana, natty pb and 1 scoop whey] in between, so I’m getting something in about every 3 hrs. We’ll see how it goes. Ya’ll be good.

Yeah Curb is hysterical!!! LD makes the show, no doubt. He made Seinfeld as well. He left before the last season, and you could just tell the quality of episodes went way down.

As for Pendlay rows, here is a good example of how to do them correctly:

Meal plan looks good. What are you eating for your solid meals?

Stay up homie.

Played ball for about an hour and a half. No new dunks. Gonna start upping my ball frequency to get my legs used to being athletic again. I’m really stiff now. Guess that’ll happen with no playing really for a year or so. Definitely gonna be foam rolling and doing mobility stuff daily. Gonna aim for a mini-cockback by the end of the month. Have no idea how ambitious that is, but we’ll see.

Thanks bro. I looked at some vids before I tried 'em but not sure I pulled 'em off accordingly. Breakfast is usually a 4 jumbo egg scramble/omlet with bell peppers and mushrooms [sometimes onions] and hashbrowns, lunch is usually rice, veggies and salmon, and dinner is some kind of meat and veggies. I’ve only been doing this for a few days though, so it’s not set in stone yet. So far I like it though. The lunch is my pre training meal on workout days. It’ll sometimes vary [had a burger instead of the 1st shake today] but I’d like to stick as closely to this as possible, with the plate looking like 1/3starch, 1/3 veggies and 1/3 meat. With this set-up I’m between 3,200-3,400 cals a day.

Yeah man. The first curb I saw was the no fly zone episode and I damn near fell off the couch. It’s pretty damn funny.

Likewise brother. Be easy.
