George Floyd Riots

The guy who remains silent while violent mobs terrorize cities and agents legitimately protecting federal property.

Biden is running for President of the US. The man should’ve been denouncing attacks on cities, US federal property and the law enforcement protecting that property, daily. That guy.

I blame the guy who feels beholden to the mob, as you’ve made him out to be.

If you aren’t working due to the COVID situation or making under $1000 a month then you can get $2000 a month from the government. The problem with the way it’s set up is that it discourages people from working, or working more than a few days here and there, but that’s another issue.

I heard something about $600/week unemployment benefits in the US, is that not true?

I think the risks are being blown out of proportion. Grocery store workers aren’t dying by the thousands, and they have been exposed to hundreds of people a day since the beginning of the pandemic. And until recently they weren’t wearing masks either.

The WHO says that it’s unusual for asymptomatic people to spread the virus, if that is true then it’s very easy to figure out who needs to stay home and who doesn’t.

We should move this discussion to one of the COVID threads

You’d put more blame on the friend of the drunk asshole too scared to restrain him, than you would the guy gaslighting (with glee) the drunk asshole into destroying your house?

that doesnt make any sense to me. To each their own i suppose.

So in other words Biden is backing extremists. Sounds pretty extreme to me.

Only if YOU subscribe to “silence is compliance”. I don’t, so i just think its a gutless, politically motivated move and is unbecoming of a presidential candidate.

I think silence, when face with a wrong, is gutless.

But Biden subscribes to it, and so do his fanatical leftist supporters

I would blame the guy who won’t denounce the people trying to destroy my house. Not the guy who sent the cops to deal with the mob destroying my home.

I don’t really get this position. It leads to the conclusion that we simply can’t have Federal courthouses. Or, really, any public property.

By the time Biden realizes he has to get out there and call these people terrorists, it will be too late. The country will have been way ahead of him and will be wondering where the hell this MIA Presidential candidate was this whole time.

I don’t know whose idea it was to have Joe Biden to remain silent this damn long for fear of losing the approval of those who support violent riots…

He’s going to lose too many centrists by remaining mum when he should have been out front. This weekend was a disaster. You don’t get to remain silent on this issue and keep the centrists. That’s just it.

But we’ll have to wait and see how this shake outs. I think the polls are going to start shifting very shortly. We shall see!

Remember all the headlines about Trump refusing to denounce white nationalists? Biden must have read too much of the wrong news and figured it was a good strategy.

Yeah, all those rioting white nationalists and their nightly mobs of violence that spilled out into other cities. I remember that.

Some people on this forum were trying to argue that the right wing is much more violent than the left. Looks like that notion has been totally dispelled.

As somebody who is (still) trapped in the house with an abusive family, I wholeheartedly agree with the concerns you mention here. I think that middle schoolers and high schoolers would be okay in a school environment when taking extra precautions, but little kids? No way. They don’t even wash their hands.

And little kids are where the problem lies. Parents can leave their middle schoolers and high schoolers home to go to work, but leaving 5-year-old Johnny alone at home isn’t such a good idea.

Schools should be able to operate at full capacity if they devise a plan for reopening that isn’t slapped together by September, because anything they can come up with by the end of next month is going to be hastily put together. I also fully expect cases across the country (yes, even New York, my state) to have at least doubly increased caseloads.

People traveling and other people not wearing masks when they travel are both going to hit every state harder than we think.

This. Teachers are going to have to stay on top of these kids. I’m already imagining the younger kids trading/trying on each other’s animal/cartoon decorated masks.

Yeah, I agree. It’s a sorry state of affairs…the mainstream media is sensationalized beyond belief too.

Among younger children this will definitely be an issue…

You do know what “infinite” means, right?

Answer: No. Biden hasn’t denounced the riots. I’d be willing to bet he does not even know about them of forgot about them. You cannot see them from his basement. But the mainstream news finally caught on. And you’ll never guess what they say… That’s right, it’s Trump’s fault.

So you have the headlines that ANTIFA is a myth and ANTIFA is rioting at President Trump’s behest, because he thinks that that will make him look better. Because, the people painting, ACAB, Fuck Donald Trump, Fuck the Police, etc. are secretly in the bag for Trump.
That’s the new lie the media\ DNC is telling now.

This article is for you then. It’s actually for everybody. It’s a pretty good summation of the situation. While it does have a somewhat left tint, it’s more about the people who are suffering and it does a really good job of describing what is really happening in these towns and to these people. It’s tragic.
It’s a little long but it’s worth the read.

And your option is who?

While I am not one of them (as I will dirty myself every election voting for the less bad option) I’m a big fan of the conscious non-voter.

I want ‘none of the below’ at the top of every ballot.

I don’t know if this has been posted here, I didn’t see it, but I didn’t scroll all the way through…
This goes to what you are saying…
