I agree with you - its very sad that people are brought up in environments where violence is all they witness. And yes, it would be nearly impossible to not go down the same path yourself. That said, my point was that violence is almost always met with violence. To best prevent deadly encounters with law enforcement, one must simply not engage in violent behavior (and I say best because there are obvious tragedies that befall innocent people of ALL races).
I wasnāt aware of that but I believe you. Regardless, it is overwhelmingly violent crime (rape, murder, assault) that leads to violent altercations with police officers and not possession of contraband in oneās vehicle.
Police should never ātryā to kill anyone unless they are in a life or death situation themselves. In the vast majority of police killings (of white AND black citizens) that is the reason someone dies.

I realize why the word āhistoricalā has triggered you and it is somewhat justified. In reality I should have used the word ārecentā as I was really referring to the past couple decades.
Nonetheless, two wrongs do not make a right. EVERY society across the world has engaged in atrocious behaviors toward other groups of people (many of which had nothing to do with race) but sins of the past do not condone widespread violence in the present.
