If the national guard were brought in by trump to violently put down protests in Seattle, against the mayors and governors wishes i absolutely would be out there… and I consider myself a centrist.
There are a lot of leftists that are sitting out the riots because they arent real sympathetic to violence for no reason and because they have better things to do. But if they see a violent crackdown by jackbooted police against anyone (peaceful or not) in the vicinity of these riots that is a cause they would get violently behind.
Then do you believe the rest of us should get out there against the violent leftists that actually are beating, burning, looting, and killing right now?
BLM means different things to different people, many/most probably don’t even know that BLM the organization has marxist influence. You have intentionally ignored the point of folks kneeling for the anthem, and feigning outrage over that is old hat. You’re better than that.
No, i think it would be the proper response for all americans, most of all the redneck, meat eating, bigass gun toting supposed libertarian leaning folks in WA.
Does that mean that those of us who have done due diligence should just stand aside and let BLM sink it’s fangs deeper in society? And it doesn’t have Marxist influence; it is Marxist.
Yes. And do any of them NOT haved pink, purple, or green hair? Geeze. Looks like they all went to the same hairstylist. Themselves. In the mirror. High. And with the lights off. With a pair of rusty shears and a bottle of dye.
If you want to, go for it. I think it would be stupid to risk so much for such a contained issue that doesnt affect you… but if you believe it is a big enough problem , go for it.
Would i join the movement in PDX should the local authorities crackdown? No.
Would i join “the movement” should trump send in the national guard to squash protests in Seattle against he mayors and governors pleas (as was rumored to be planned)? yes.
Hell no. Keep getting the word out about BLM the organization. Make it clear you support equality and any reforms that will remove or change prejudicial or racist policies, but you do not agree with the official BLM platform and educate people as to what the bad parts of that platform are. Encourage people to look it up themselves.
No. I am saying that the governor and mayor actively supporting the violence and destruction of not only state and local propety but also federal property, plus filing a lawsuit against the federal government and repeated requests for federal law enforcement to leave federal property so that it can be destroyed by rioting and violence is akin to action against the United States of America.
Say you have a house in Portland and you send a security team to protect it against violent rioters. The rioters not only continue to attack your house but the mayor and governor demand you abandon you property and file a lawsuit against you to do so. Do you just give it up and take the loss? Is the house no longer yours? Do you defend it or take the loss? Say the insurance company tells you they will not cover it if you allow the mob to take it without a fight, still cool with that?
Well this is more than that. They are actively violating their own state’s and federal law. And they are trying to take over federal land and property and kick out the federal government all together. That’s insurrection, by literal definition.
Fort Sumter was an isolated act. It wasn’t a widespread thing, the federal government could have just removed the troops and done nothing about it. There did not need to be a Civil War just because some loons from an illegitimate insurrection government decided it was a good idea.
Hell, if the federal government did not engage, we probably would have never heard of Fort Sumter.
Why should the country have gone to war over a small, essentially meaningless fortress in SC, done by just handful of people?
