Apologies mnben, the forum is making me reply through you when I try to communicate with H Factor. Please disregard.
You wouldn’t like it, its so boring and terrible in Australia, we don’t have widespread rioting, looting, how I wish we were more like America . Might I suggest a trip to Zimbabwe or South Africa, I think you would enjoy them more, I hear they’re very welcoming.
You keep on refusing to see what’s in front of you. If you don’t believe someone like Bezemov, who came from a communist spy agency, tasked with subverting foreign cultures, telling you as plain as day what they set in motion, you are the one who is mentally ill, totally delusional and divorced from reality. The results are right in front of you, your country is turning to shit, people trying to tear down the Statue of Andrew Jackson near the White House, is that by itself not enough. Must be some intangible, unexplainable magical reason for all the trouble, surely nothing that could be addressed and solved in the real world. Nothing to see here, move along.
Oh I hear there is a move to rename the USA when the commies take over. They want to call it the Disunited States, of Diversity… our greatest strength.
The states will become one state and its diversity won’t be that diverse. The people who are talking about diversity are really talking about conformity.
Dude I came into this thread to see you spouting pure bullshit about statues being erected in Seattle. After a number of posts you walked back from that pure falsehood.
Then you go on some dumbass tangent about gays, transgenders, whatever else spews out of your juiced keyboard. That’s the shit I responded to. I haven’t once said I support tearing down statues or communism or anything like that. You want to make everything simple. Either you’re against everyone who is different from you in race, culture, religion, sexuality, gender or you’re FOR what the worst of anyone does in one of those categories.
It’s pure bullshit and you know it. But the vast majority of people don’t fit that way and I certainly don’t. But you’re not interested in a discussion about things you’re interested in telling people what they must be. It seems foreign to you that I could not give a shit at all if the military has a gay person. And since I don’t give a shit I MUST be for anything bad a gay person does, a transgender, black person, white person, Asian, anything. Just because I don’t share your fear doesn’t mean I support something like rampant looting. I shouldn’t have to explain that to you.
Because apparently that’s where the line is for this discussion. Knock yourself out man. Watch all your YouTube videos all day long. Work against women having the right to vote or whatever you want to do. Think all day long about how gay sex is ruining your ability to be a man or something. I gotta get better about not feeding trolls.
H, You are part of the problem. Your attitude enables bad people to do bad things and not have to deal with the consequences of their actions. Oh they did it because of some undefined white supremacism, or slavery hundreds of years ago, institutional racism.
How do you explain so many young white people that confess to hating their own culture, wanting to tear down historical statues of white people that founded the very country they live in, without a conscious plan to turn people away from their culture? Not just in America but also other white countries that don’t have the same negative history with blacks.
How do you explain why blacks think they are currently being violently persecuted, when the statistics clearly show that racial violence is 90% black on white, and only 10% white on black?
Damn I have a lot of power apparently. You mean you can sit on your computer thousands of miles away and know that I’m letting people not have to deal with the consequences of their actions? Son of a bitch I had no idea.
If I share a YouTube video and say no gays in the military on a section of a bodybuilding board that only has a few active members will that stop bad people from doing things? Wonder why people did bad things before gays in the military. Maybe because I wasn’t using my powers for good! Have the bad people in Australia all stopped with you pointing things out on here or do I need to move there and use my power for you?
It’s interesting to see photos which show the majority of BLM protesters to be white. This is not a poor people movement, of any race, and I doubt anyone who lives in the inner city cares about Marxism, colonialism and statues. However, you have many wealthy black people like Lebron James and Beyonce openly supporting BLM and I doubt they want to abolish capitalism, so at some point the BLM movement will implode when wealthy blacks say, “wait, what? You want to abolish capitalism? I earned my money by working harder than the other guy.”
It being “never” about race is not completely true.
@zecarlo…my feeling is that any organization that hides its true motives behind what are real problems; then exploits them to their own ends is bound to implode. So I agree.
Such a fantastic song. By the way, a great collaboration with him for “Lift Me Up” by Five Finger. OTOH, it would be a strange song that Halford couldn’t add some serious balls to.
The other greatest scream, by sometime “Most Interesting Man in the World” and singer for the other founding British steel band, Maiden: Number of the Beast. I will never forget the first time I heard that opening.
I can agree to this article.
Particularly, about metal more or less stepping away from melody to rhythm (& technical) emphasis.
While I like the older stuff that held on to melody (Maiden, Priest, et al) the straight up grind wears me down rather quickly or even immediately.
Chopin and Bach are memorable for their melody which was undergirded by their technical prowess. I have been in many factories that produced a synchronous repetition of sounds, and never considered it musical.
I’ll have to check out the article later when I have more time to read long form.
I think metal today has taken a huge number of things from earlier progressive bands like Dream Theater, who melded melody and technical prowess into a high art. (And also who is in my personal top 3 bands of all time regardless of rock genre). Then they took it to extremes, almost in an abstract art sort of manner.
A lot of the progressive technical stuff is right up my alley. However I totally understand where you’re coming from, Chopin and Bach are two of my favorites for precisely their melodic sensibilities. I do need some sort of melodic underpinning for me to listen for hours on end outside of a concert setting.
