This is perfectly illustrative of the power these narratives hold. Situations like a literal super cop showing up to make a split-second decision in a violent moment to save a young girl’s life will even look like a racist murderer preying on an innocent black child to Pavlov’s Dogs.
Of course, there’s only two types of people who will come to that conclusion. The aforementioned useful idiots who’ve been conditioned to froth at the mouth when certain optics are present, such as your typical woke SJW’s. The other equally troubling group are cynical power grabbers who are fully aware of their own lies, not to mention fully aware of the useful idiots’ predictable reactions.
For an example of the former, see the most physically gifted human ever sending his vapid thoughts on victimhood racing around the globe as he pretends to play civil rights leader, at least in the Western Hemisphere.
For an example of the latter, look to Obama and his ongoing commentary on nearly every high-profile case of black men being shot since Trayvon Martin. It is consistently in-line with the narrative, facts be damned. That’s the same reason why Michael Brown’s mother gets invited to the DNC. Her son was dumb enough to fight a cop and got himself shot because of it, thus becoming a useful instrument of power and social division.
And we still hear what is almost certainly a misrepresentation of the events leading to his death, “hands up don’t shoot.” A misrepresentation according to Obama’s DoJ.
Why aren’t these narratives and police phobias being challenged more by reporters?
Fear of being called racist and the consequences that will follow.
The irony of that is if we were, in fact, a systemically white supremacist nation being a called a racist wouldn’t be a big deal at all. The fact that it can be career-destroying at the very least tells you quite a bit about our society’s tolerance for racists.
I think it’s a humiliation ritual, to be honest. The test is to see how absurd they can be and still demand that people swallow it.
When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is in some small way to become evil oneself. One’s standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.
Does it matter? Don’t get into public knife fights. The examples are generally so bad we get these utterances.
If a LEO shows up on scene and has only time to see and recognize that one person is about to stab the other…As far as I’m concerned it’s the assumed risk of attempting to murder one another. The public duel thing is so yester-year.
I showed the still images to my daughter and asked her what would a cop, or anyone for that matter, have to do to stop that heifer (I didn’t use that word with my kid) from stabbing the other female. She said shoot her. A kid has more sense than these college educated idiots.
It’s getting to the point that one has to assume the goal of higher education is to unlearn things that should be perfectly obvious to anyone with a brain.
These are the exact types of things that directly fuel my cynicism about the future of the human race. Holy fucking hell.
There is literally no better time to shoot. I will bet a large sum of money if it was an episode of Law and Order she’d be a huge fan of the guest character that pulled the trigger “in defense”. She knows knives can be deadly too right? Probably not.
I absolutely agree. We can disagree over the extent to which these narratives will drive actions, but I think it’s absolutely self-evident that they exist, are widespread, and have influence. This scares me.
Pretty much.
Yes. And this is evil. I deeply despise people who do this, or attempt to do this. They’re more than bullies. It is an attempt to destroy a person’s mind and will.
Watching from the LEO bodycam, he choose the correct threat (other being unarmed man entering from the right and trying to kick victim on the ground.) and stopped it.
I thought it showed poise in an extreme situation.
He should get a medal.
Here’s a hint: It’s a guy whose basketball game I absolutely love beyond words, but who is also an unfortunate useful idiot who has failed to follow the Michael Jordan template of affecting positive change via actions and promoting common values. He has done some of that too, but he’s also chosen to become a woke activist to promote lies and destructive policies, which Jordan stayed away from entirely.
He probably means well, but should really just shut up and excel in his own arena.
He should be thankful he lives in a country that values a useless skill like being able to shoot a basketball. Otherwise he’d just be a tall guy flipping burgers.
I think people should practice more gratitude in general, but his skillset is far from useless. I, for one, love being entertained by world-class athletes as much as I enjoy a good book, a great piece of music or a stand-up comedy performance that doesn’t give you any choice but to laugh.
The unfortunate thing is that he is this generation’s Michael Jordan and I’m sure just as many kids today look at him the same way I did at Jordan for my whole childhood.
The only solution is to let black people just do what they want. Don’t arrest them, don’t prosecute them, don’t investigate them. Just let them. In fact, release from prison the ones currently doing time.
Shit if I were a cop and I saw a black teenage girl stabbing the shit out of Valerie Jarret I wouldn’t do anything. If I did Jarret would probably call me un Uncle Tom or something.
I don’t really understand the “White culture” part of your post, but for this part, at the risk of sounding like a fascist, nationalist, nazi sympathizer still under the effect of the remnants of Stockholm Syndrome due to past British colonization, you’re absolutely right when it comes to immigrant policies adopted by lots of developed countries. Lots of immigrants from the 3rd World won’t even be able to meet the qualifications for anything more than a temporary visit or work pass, let alone the chance for any form of long term residency which would be required to bring their families along with them.
Which doesn’t imply that I, as in me, as in myself - yup, all three of us - think anyone’s “worth” should be measured by arbitrary standards like one’s race/culture/religion, education level and financial status so to any easily offended snowflake who doesn’t understand sarcasm and thinks the sentence I wrote above, which also consists of statements of fact with regard to strict, selective immigration policies in various developed countries, are something I agree with: just save it and shut the fuck up. I don’t make the fucking rules.
EDIT:
Wow I had a brain fart and initially wrote “Berlin Syndrome” instead of “Stockholm Syndrome”. I’m also an unconscious racist.
